About the Role

As a Sr Manager, Engineering SW for Foundation SW – Camera, you shall be responsible for Managing a Team, set objectives, Define Workflow/Process, Design, Develop & Review Architecture of Camera Native Services.

Position Summary:

The Domain Manager-Camera - will have to drive the delivery for all customer programs  of Intelligent Cockpit Business Unit . He/She will work with other Domains/BUs to develop and deliver quality and cost effective cockpit solutions for global customers.

He/She will supervise and monitor the development and delivery of all the customer programs, by adhering to the process mandated by the organization and giving prime importance to quality of delivery.

The Domain Manager,Camera- must develop, roll out and maintain a concept which supports the global goals of the BU intelligent Cockpit regarding availability, cost efficiency, fast reactiveness and reliability in cost, schedule and quality. This role needs a strong but mediating personality and professional way of handling the project and the team. He/She will be required to understand the newer trends in Agile Development to enable Continuous Delivery and Deployment and bring these newer technology trends into ongoing/new internal or customer programs. The role will have a high internal and external visibility through interacting with customers and vendors for concept discussions and escalations, as well as thorough representing the organization in global seminars. The Doamain Manager has a strong impact to the overall success of HARMAN´s programs as driving the above mentioned topics will support better quality of HARMAN´s products, higher customer satisfaction as well as more efficient engineering.

  • Work with different Domains and customer program leaders to institute consistent processes for (a) competitive benchmarking, (b) innovation management, and (c) influencing product & technology strategy.
  • Lead a global/Distributed team of Camera infrastructure software and support all Custoer Programs.
  • Participate with higher management in developing strategic organizational goals and objectives.
  • Ensure high quality of software delivery with best possible cost efficiency.
  • Coach, motivate and foster professional development of direct reports.
  • Guide, develop and retain a high performance technical staff across multiple locations.
  • Handle customer presentations and participate in industry seminars where needed.
  • Guide team to adapt to new Lean and Agile Development principles.
  • Develop and guide the leadership team to support HARMAN Standard processes and goals.
  • Ensure the adherence of ASPICE Level 3 for whole V model and assign scope for software engineering process,  as per HARMAN BMS process where applicable.
  • Establish and introduce HARMAN KPI’s, statistics and metrics by benchmarking the industry best practices.
  • Encourage the use of best of the design principles and methodologies required for the development.
  • A strong collaboration with all BUs, and in some cases with Customer and CPM /BU Delivery managers is necessary and mandated.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead global team of Camera Infra Domain (15+ members)
  • Define, roll out and monitor Software development process execution and unit testing.
  • Monitor the quality and performance of the modules delivered.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master in Electrical Engineering / Information Technology or comparable degree
  • 15+ years of R&D experience with a background in the Automotive / Embedded industry
  • Must have Strong C++ Programming & Design skills.
  • Strong understanding and work experience in Android multimedia framework (Video, Camera), OpenCV, OpenGL, SKIA, V4L2 framework, Camera Sensor Drivers.
  • Very good problem solving, Reviewing and debugging skills.
  • Proven success in managing embedded Automotive Infotainment programs
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to oversee and form virtual process action teams to drive new technologies and design methodologies.
