About the Role

The Customer Requirements Manager is responsible for collecting, structuring and monitoring the stakeholder requirements during the complete lifecycle processes. This position will define the Requirement Management Process strategy within project, will align to project specific process requirements, and will ensure data maintenance in the Requirements Management tools, and will measure and report the process performance based on defined KPIs.

What You Will Do

  • First point of contact for stakeholders (e.g. Functional Owner, Project Leaders, Testers) regarding Requirements Management
  • Define the Requirement Management Process strategy within project, align to project specific process requirements (process definition with supplier)
  • Tailor the Requirements management process based on project constraints and priorities
  • Define and Configure the requirements module templates (e.g. IRS, SRS, TRS, etc.)
  • Define, setup and execute the Requirements Elicitation process during RFQ phase
  • Setup and ensure maintenance of Requirements infrastructure (e.g. system, tool, formal modules, link modules etc.) for the project
  • Organize and execute the Requirements management process trainings
  • Support and coach on requirements process and tooling questions
  • Ensure availability of customer requirement specifications for all project stakeholders in defined requirements tool
  • Ensure availability of referenced documents (GCSR, ISOs, Norms, Standards,...)
  • Regular exchange of requirements specifications with the customer
  • Ensure data maintenance in the Requirements Management tools
  • Measure and report the process performance based on defined KPIs
  • Create the requirements specification baselines
  • Change Request support regarding requirements according to tailored CR process
  • Decide on process setup
  • Create, tailor and release project specific RE processes, requirements handling rules, guidance on tool and processes
  • Create and maintain requirements management infrastructure
  • Maintain requirements management infrastructure CRS requirements according to updates from the client
  • Exchange official RFQ evaluation result (DOORS modules) to the customer
  • Request technical analysis and estimated effort of requirements from Engineering Team
  • Track and report missing analysis information
  • Track and report completeness of traceability/linking
  • Setup and maintain statistics and report regularly
  • Handling of GCRS document (Norms, Standards,)
  • Analyze and manage change request from a customer or internal. (Store change records and maintain traceability.)
  • Verify quotation from requirement/system perspective.
  • Appropriate escalation of issues to customers and/or internal team to resolve customer issues.

What You Need

  • Expert knowledge of requirements management
  • Good knowledge of embedded software and system
  • Excellent knowledge of RFI/RFQ process
  • Knowledge of Requirements Management Tool “Doors Next Generation”, “DOORS”, and Doors exchange mechanism
  • Configuration management rules and tools especially baselining
  • Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®)
  • Strong knowledge on SW and HW architectures and Mobile Wireless Technology (DSPs, ARM, Memories, Multicore processing, WiFi, 5G, 4G/LTE, 3G, CDMA, 2G, Bluetooth) and/or Infotainment Technology (Navigation system, Digital TV, ETC system, Drive recorder, Mirroring, rear seat entertainment).
  • Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Japanese
  • Experience working with or for a Japanese automotive supplier / carmaker
