Description & Requirements

About the Role

  • This role has regional Japan responsibility for market specifics and perform software/system testing and validation for connectivity programs. Be responsible for providing steady validation quality, and report incidents in a timely manner.
  • Able to understand the schedule of target products development projects, make a test specification according to the test implementation date for each event, and conduct.
  • Improve the efficiency of the test by applying test automation system and improve the quality.
  • Validate a system consistency by conducting a test at Harman office, at customer’s site and in an actual vehicle.

What You Will Do

  • Perform software qualification and system test in the area of system (OnOff, Network, Security, Stability, etc…) for telematics projects.
  • Participation in internal and external test drives with customer involvement
  • Submit a report of daily test results with logical and understandable description for stakeholders.
  • Define reproduction test method and conduct it when issue occurs. Report the result accurately based on the content.
  • Understand the mechanism of occurrence of issue found at a test. Collaborate with the concerned persons toward early settlement.
  • Understand the contents of the issue from a technical point of view. Define a test procedure. Solve the issues by collaborating with other teams (Including global bases).
  • Commissioning and modification of software and hardware components or test setups

What You Need

  • University degree in engineering (electrical engineering, information technology or comparable degree).
  • Min. 2 - 3 years of professional experience in the field of automotive software / system validation.
  • Solid experience in test methods, processes, defect management and tools
  • Hardware knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience in infotainment SW development/architecture is an advantage.
  • Ability to analyze, communicate and present.
  • Communicative and team player
  • Goal oriented, result oriented, networking skills.
  • Programming and software knowledge in Python, C#, C++, MySQL is an advantage.
  • Fluent Japanese skills, both written and spoken in native level as a must
  • Good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Valid driving license with clean history.

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience of automatic test system development (Five years or more)
  • Experience and knowledge related to in-vehicle LAN (Especially CAN/MOST)
  • Five + year experience as a supplier to any car manufacture or working for any automotive OEM.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft products.
  • Qualification of JSTQB etc.
