About the Role

The Automotive Cybersecurity Associate Consultant will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security of automotive systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This position will impact the business by safeguarding our automotive products against cyber threats and vulnerabilities, contributing to the safety and security of our customers.


Your Team

This role will report into the Cybersecurity Practice Lead and does not have any direct reports. However, as an Automotive Cybersecurity Consultant, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, system architects, and product managers. You will work in a cross-functional capacity, partnering with stakeholders from different departments to ensure the effective implementation of cybersecurity measures within automotive systems.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct cybersecurity threat modeling, risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on automotive systems and components.
  • Develop and implement security measures and protocols to protect against potential cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated into the design and development processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Support incident response activities, including investigation and mitigation of cybersecurity breaches.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and stakeholders on cybersecurity best practices and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers, to ensure alignment on cybersecurity requirements and standards.

What You Need

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive cybersecurity or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and threat modeling.
  • Understanding of industry cybersecurity standards and frameworks, such as ISO 21434, SAE J3061, or ISO 27001.
  • Experience in threat modeling, risk assessment methodologies, and vulnerability analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

What is Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Certifications in automotive cybersecurity.
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices and standards in C and C++ for embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive-specific frameworks and standards, such as AUTOSAR.
  • Understanding of emerging technologies in the automotive industry, such as autonomous vehicles and connected car platforms.
