About the Role

As the Vice President of Architecture and Requirements, you will lead a global team of experts to create innovative, consistent, scalable, and efficient architectural solutions for our automotive cockpit programs. You will closely collaborate with our product managers, customers, and development teams to ensure the correct implementation of the designs. You will drive increasingly higher levels of quality by introducing state-of-the-art tools and processes throughout the organization.  Having a key role in the implementation of our product strategy, you will be the bridge for technical communications and idea sharing across our products/platforms and customer projects.

Your Team

You will lead a global team made up of approximately 100 architects and 50 requirements resources.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, manage and grow a group of experts to derive the next generation of Intelligent Cockpit architecture concepts and designs, while ensuring the current architectures are implemented correctly by the development teams.  Enable cross functional and cross program learnings.
  • Interact with customers and key stakeholders on their future designs and drive those concepts into HARMAN’s product roadmaps.
  • Create an environment where expert resources can be embedded within a product, platform, or project team, and utilizing the process and procedure created by the centralized architecture or requirements team.
  • Review technical concepts of each program and ensure communication of those designs and concepts to all development teams.
  • Drives and implements architecture excellence and best-practices across his team and with his/her peers in the neighboring departments.
  • Ensure consistent, quality and timely deliveries of architecture designs and requirements documents.
  • Drive innovation and IP creation across the architecture and requirements teams to protect current and future products.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15+ years of overall professional experience in leading Systems Design or SW Architecture teams with a minimum of 10 years in leading multi-national teams.
  • Experience as a key influencer in new product or service ideation as well as demonstrated experience launching products in collaboration with business or partner.
  • Proven expertise in developing complex systems from architecture to implementation. Experience providing technical leadership to HW, Systems and SW developers.
  • Understanding of Automotive Architecture, SW Defined Vehicle and overall vehicle systems.

What is Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree, preferably in Engineering.
  • Have launched multiple Digital Cockpit or Infotainment Systems as an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Services, AI/ML, Mobile Communications and OTA

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 30% domestic and international travel.
  • Be willing to work in a home office or office in Novi, Michigan.
