About the Role

HARMAN’s diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices.  Your primary focus will be supporting our visual merchandising efforts encompassing JBL’s product and merchandising displays across North American retail channels. Consumer-focused creative displays that capture buyers’ attention and increase sell-through, with the goal of providing an excellent in-store customer shopping experience. You will provide support utilizing a strong project management skill set, focusing on execution of visual merchandising projects to convert window shoppers into prospects by driving branding and product initiatives, to achieve business objectives.

Your Team

This person reports to the Visual Merchandising Manager and will support the Customer Marketing, Visual Merchandising Team.


What You Will Do

  • Provide critical support for visual merchandising displays across JBL’s entire Consumer Audio retail portfolio consisting of over 20,000 store doors.
  • Drive execution of product merchandising including POS displays and other in-store assets.
  • Maintain day-to-day communication and collaboration with external merchandising agencies and vendors.
  • Engage customer relationships while providing on-going support across all retail-channel merchandising teams
  • Collaborate with internal cross-function teams (supply chain, sales, finance, legal, procurement) in achieving merchandising project execution, while maintaining timelines and budget.

What You Need

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution in the Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
  • Must have taken courses in Operations, Business, Marketing or related field
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with natural multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong project management and document management skills.  
  • High standards on follow-up ensuring project timelines and budgets are met
  • Passion for retail tech and design
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office

What is Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of active merchandising displays
  • Experience working with marketing and manufacturing, or retail  

What Makes You Eligible

  • Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
  • Must be willing to work in an office in Northridge, CA (hybrid)
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024 and be able to work 20-40 hours per week depending on workload
  • Highly prefer candidates who live within a commutable distance
