About the Role

As a Purchasing Procurement Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement department's operations and gaining practical experience in procurement processes and supplier management. You will work closely with the procurement team to assist in various tasks and projects, contributing to the organization's overall efficiency and success. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to learn about procurement practices and develop essential skills for a career in supply chain management.

What You Will Do

Intern #1

  • Support various digitization projects within the Procurement & BCA organization
  • Support Procurement Operations team with supplier onboarding and engagement in the Supplier Business Network used for capacity and supply planning.
  • Complete a project plan and final project summary which will be presented to Executive management.

Intern #2

  • Support various strategy projects within the Procurement & BCA organization with a focus on E2E sourcing
  • Propose and implement improvements based on identified inefficiencies.
  • Participate in the supply change management process project with the Procurement Operations Team to drive best in class change management visibility internally within the organization and externally with the supplier base
  • Complete a project plan and final project summary which will be presented to Executive management.

What You Need

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program pursuing relevant degree (business, supply chain management, or a related field.) at an accredited institution, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
  • Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

What is Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of procurement principles is a plus.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan.
  • Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
  • Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024 and be able to work 40 hours per week
