About the Role 

 

HARMAN’s diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practicesAs a member of our team your primary focus will be on consumer activations, sports and influencer partnerships, and go-to-market strategies for our retail partners in the Americas. The responsibilities will include working directly on initiatives involving our sports partnerships/ambassadors, college NIL student athlete partnerships (Name Image and Likeness), and lifestyle influencer partnerships.  
 

Your Team 

This person reports to the Go-to-Market (GTM) Marketing Manager and will support the North America GTM Marketing team. 

 

What You Will Do  

  • Aid in the launch of North American influencer & sports ambassador programs for the Consumer Lifestyle division to support product launches, campaigns, and cultural brand moments and events 

  • Conduct NIL research on college athletes for seeding and potential ambassadorships 

  • Identify the most suitable college athletes to partner with on programs based on social pull, interests and cultural relevance 

  • Develop and execute marketing programs supporting college, sports marketing, and NIL athlete partnerships 

  • Support Influencer retail programs, customer retail media, and marketing activation programs  

  • Cross-collaborate on campaigns across multiple marketing teams; brand, social, digital, influencer, e-commerce, product marketing, public relations, sales, experiential & events to bring to life go-to-market strategies for consumer audio (earbuds, headphones, portable speakers, and home audio) 

  • Manage end-to-end fulfillment of seeding campaigns  

  • Oversee marketing assets providing guidance and direction on concepts and content 

  • Provide actionable feedback and suggestions to align with brand messaging 

  • Provide regular campaign reporting and communicate performance and trends  

  • Create monthly competitive report identifying key influencer & sports partnership trends and insights  

  • Provide actionable recommendations and strategies to help JBL better engage Gen Z target and gain a competitive edge on ecommerce websites 

 

What You Need 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution in the Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program 

  • Must have taken courses in marketing or related field 

  • Usable knowledge of Microsoft Office, new presentation formats, photo editing platforms preferred 

  • Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills 

  • Project management and problem-solving skills with experience driving projects within defined schedules and the ability to resolve problems while maintaining schedules 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Self-starter with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environment 

  • Ability to change priorities and handle multiple projects at one time 

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and enthusiasm towards tasks and projects, fostering a collaborative work environment 

 

What is Nice to Have 

  • In-depth knowledge of Social Media Platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok)

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with social media analytical tools 

  • Familiarity with content editing tools 

  • Experience with marketing and event activation experience preferred  

  • Entry level work experience preferred 

 

What Makes You Eligible 

  • Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work  

  • Must be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan or Stamford, CT.

  • Ability to work in a hybrid working environment (mix of home and office)

  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization 

  • Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024 and be able to work 20-40 hours per week depending on workload  

  • Highly prefer candidates who live within a commutable distance 

  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
