About the Role

In this role, this person will act as regional NA lead for the Customer Reliability Management team for delivering innovative solutions. You will lead & manage a team of up to 10. This team consists mainly of Engineers & Project Managers. A background in handling multiple projects is required. The role requires experience/knowledge in Hardware validation for electrical components.

What You Will Do

  • Leading the regional Customer Reliability Management team.

  • Provide supervisory inputs to the CRM and validation team associated with its assigned customer.

  • Responsible for RFQ estimations/calculations regarding validation based on customer requirements.

  • First escalation path for OEMs / CPMs / SBUs for the CRM role in the US region.

  • Being part of M-Gate and change request review and approval when needed.

  • Arrange customer or requester visits to laboratories to witness testing, results, or samples in coordination with the respective Lab Manager.

  • Manage outsourced validation activities associated with development and ongoing production.

  • Develop and perform reviews on a very high level and obtain approvals (internal and external) for validation plans.

  • Review and approve outsourced validation plans.

  • Considering engineering input, develop, negotiate, and document accelerated test plans when necessary.

  • Ensure proper coverage of all locations while minimizing test volume.

  • Seek clarification/negotiation of customer validation specifications when needed.

  • Manage the coordination of different departments domestically and internationally.

  • Tracking projects and project budget

What You Need

  • Deep knowledge of typical automotive design cycles, validation phases, and deliverables

  • Deep knowledge of the development and management of environmental test laboratories

  • Deep program management skillset – planning, matrix management, communication 

  • BSEE, BSEET, BSCS, BS Physics or equivalent experience.

  • More than 10 years in an engineering or engineering management role, 5 years minimum in a validation role with Environmental qualification and electrical qualification, or related experience. Automotive industry background is highly desirable.

  • Excellent skills in project management and time management

  • Very good verbal and written communication skills

  • Advanced test solutions knowledge for automotive industries.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to excel working within highly dynamic situations.

  • Audit experience.

  • Familiarity with TS16949, ISO17025 standards, and internal/external certification auditor is desired.

  • Good knowledge of PPAP, DFMEA, and MSA.

  • Well-trained in problem-solving methodology.

  • Sufficient knowledge of project workflow and experience with APQP is a desire.

  • Experience of working with foreign people is a plus.
