About the Role

  • Able to understand the schedule of target products development projects, make an appropriate test plan for considering the customer test event.
  • It always needs to be considered to share the information such as what test case need to be conducted in Japan with global system test team to avoiding duplicate development and wrong implementation.
  • Able to lead communication with system test team engineers about test automation for considering the test efficiency.
  • All test cases which you are planned to be automated should be reviewed with Japan team and you need to consider the request from them as well.
  • Build up test automation test system and conduct the test by apply that for test efficiency.


What You Will Do

  • Understand purpose of test and mechanism of test procedure based on the test case design document.
  • Review all test cases with system test team engineers for verifying the test purpose and expected test result.
  • Test result is also reviewed with test engineers for verifying it is really matched with expectation.
  • Submit a report of daily test result with logical and understandable description for stakeholders.
  • Lead for applying the test automation with the investigation that how to apply the automation with enough quality without human errors.
  • Lead continuously update for test bench and automation system update for optimizing the quality and precision.
  • It needs to be responded positively about the sudden request to apply the new test scenario and automation such as regression test for reproducing the issue phenomena.

What You Need

  • Experience of test design (Seven years or more).
  • Experience of in-vehicle products development (Five years or more).
  • Experience for controlling the system test by applying the automation. (Five years or more).
  • Experience for controlling the measurement tools for automotive products. (Five years or more).
  • Experience and knowledge related to in-vehicle LAN (Especially MOST, A2B).
  • Able to communicate in Japanese (spoken and written), business level English skill is required.
  • Five + year experience as a supplier to any car maker or working for any automotive OEM.
  • Strong written communication skills – must be able to clearly and concisely communicate technical information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills – must work well on a team with customer and Harman functional groups.
  • Ability to manage several projects efficiently and meet schedules, as well as work under pressure and maintain a high level of output.
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft products.

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience of automatic test system development in automotive production line
  • Demonstrates ability to take charge when necessary. 
  • Demonstrates ability to get ideas across through clear and logical communication.  Demonstrates ability to lead meetings, speak in public, and prepare written correspondence.

  • Qualification of JSTQB etc.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 20% domestic and international travel.
  • Be willing to work in an office or client-sites.
  • This position requires the use of HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle.  As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation/Aptitude Test as a condition of employment.
