Supervisory Responsibilities:  

This role will directly and indirectly manage Car Audio MCU and DSP software engineering architect team in Customer Project Development (CPD) organization.  This role is managing global MCU and DSP software architect team in USA, India, Mexico, Germany, and China. The software architect engineering domain consists of approximately 30 software architects on global base for Amplifier. 

Essential Responsibilities:

Direct and lead a global team of MCU and DSP Software Architect Engineers in the development of automotive audio amplifier products.

  • Plans and directs personnel resource allocation to the customer products.
  • Driving SW development excellence and coordinating cross 3 MCU teams and 1 DSP team in  Car Audio SBU for excellence program, with 400+ engineers in China, India, Germany, Mexico and Poland.
  • Maintains engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.   Supervises engineering personnel through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising of job performance.
  • Establishes and owns the processes/tool chain strategy towards ASPICE Level 3 for the development, integration, and release of software with Engineering Excellence team and Tools and Devops team.
  • Establishes key KPIs to monitor SW MCU and DSP key deliverables during the software development and to follow the process improvement with engineering excellence team.
  • Make sure software development is executed against highest coding and execution standards complaint to ASPICE levels up to 3.
  • Provides software Leadership to audio programs and coordinates with MCU and DSP software teams to ensure deliverables are met on time and meeting customer requirements and expectations.
  • Maintains engineering standards by establishing and maintaining policies on software design standards.  Identifies and implements methods and practices that improve effectiveness of teamwork, and maturity of software development.
  • Collaborate with Product Teams (Platform Software and AudioworX teams) during Roadmap definition and review phases to ensure that the customer expectations are met for new RFQs.
  • Define necessary Demos or PoC (Prove of Concept) for potential customers or upcoming next generation RFQs to higher the hit rate of new projects.
  • Works on annual department budget, head count, capital tool planning, and other administrative duties.
  • Provides software escalation point for software-related process, tool, resource, and product issues.  This role is the champion for software to the rest of the Software development organization.

REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent

  •  Master or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

PREFERRED Certifications/Licenses

  • Master’s degree or PhD, Executive training course, Program management course training, or PMP (Program Manager Professional) certification.

REQUIRED Specific Prior Experiences

  • 15+  years management experience
  • 15+  years experience in developing and/or leading the development of software

Desired Characteristics:

  • REQUIRED  Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • PREFERRED  Master Degree in Business or Advanced Engineering Degree
  • REQUIRED

  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time
