About the Role

In the Automation Test Engineer role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing test scripts for system and software requirements by understanding SW architecture, design, test cases and responsible for execution support through quality automation, and simulation in the CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Delivery) pipeline. You must have experience with Python language with strong OOPS & programming skills. It’s preferred to have prior experience in automation testing or framework development or in embedded domain knowledge.

This role requires individual contribution at technical level and to work with peer technical teams.


What You Will Do

  • Automation script development with Python language is the primary responsibility
  • HW bench setup, SW flash, basic level troubleshooting of Automation devices
  • Join sessions with global stakeholders regarding test case grooming, analysis, estimation, test alignment, issue debug
  • Ensure on-time delivery of scripts developed & tested.
  • Technical & domain knowledge of Harman products would be essential to perform daily activities with strong interpersonal skill
  • Work closely with the Manual test teams, and domain developers to ensure that scripts developed for intended specifications is covered
  • Develop Test scripts as required for HIL, SIL, and MIL testing
  • Participate actively in technical meets, workshops
  • Work closely with the Project test leads for the execution of project goals
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Test scripts are bug-free, proper in implementation & trial run in HW is satisfactory with consistent result
  • Responsible for using the organization-level Automation test framework and adapting it to the context of the project automation.
  • Responsible for supporting the test scripts are integrated into the various stages of the build pipeline as part of the Continuous integration and continuous delivery approach
  • Work in close collaboration with the Architects, Testers, and Developers.
  • Work closely with the project team as part of the SCRUM team organization and follow the agile way of working

What You Need

  • Strong knowledge of Python programming language
  • Strong OOPS, UML knowledge
  • Good analytical skills to understand, evaluate, and provide solutions for given complex scenarios and case studies
  • Knowledge of repository software like Jira, IBM tools etc
  • Hands-on experience with any market-available test frameworks or customer-proprietary test framework
  • Minimum 5-7 years of programming experience is preferred with an Engineering graduate degree
  • Good experience in Git, Gerrit, and Jenkins
  • Good knowledge of Linux or Android
  • System level debugging
