About the Role

This role is about defining the future product portfolio for HARMAN’s Intelligent Cockpit Business Unit. HARMAN is poised to unleash a set of industry changing products over the next several years. This position will focus on the analysis of the aggregate product and business portfolio within our Intelligent Cockpit SBU.  You will use various Data Analytics tools to create views and KPIs (QLIK, PowerBI, Salesforce…).   Market intelligence will need to be developed and analyzed in order to drive portfolio decision making.  This position will be the central resource for market and competitive intelligence within the cockpit electronics domain.  You will need to connect all of our products together to create a single portfolio strategy.  As a Portfolio Manager, you will take the lead in the creation of E2E business models for new products based on how they fit into the automotive market landscape. As such, portfolio managers act as project managers to drive Finance, Sales and Engineering to provide inputs to new business models.

This role is expected to drive growth by targeted technology deployment, maximizing the potential for sales and margin by creating new and compelling products within the Intelligent Cockpit BU.

What You Will Do

  • Generate the Data Analytics for the SBU Product, Technology and Business Portfolios.
  • Analysis of Market Segments, Product Positioning and Competitive Landscape.
  • Research new markets, channels and technologies relevant to cockpit electronics.
  • Identify gaps between the SBU business strategy and the product portfolio.
  • Preparation of portfolio overview presentation material for internal and external consumption.
  • Market and competitive intelligence gathering with data analysis.
  • Create an overview of the market and product landscape over a 5-10 year time horizon.
  • Connect the various HARMAN products and technologies into a single coherent portfolio strategy.
  • Lead the creation of product business models for the global Intelligent Cockpit market.
  • Develop the opportunity space around Intelligent Cockpit core products and technologies.
  • Formulate product ideas based on market research, target customer data and technology roadmaps.
  • Document and present product-based opportunities for evaluation by senior leadership
  • Work with Product Management Domain Specialists, Engineering and Manufacturing to develop business case inputs.
  • Communicate the value proposition of prospective product programs to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify new potential business and commercial models that would leverage HARMAN’s technology

What You Need

  • University degree in Engineering or Business
  • 10+ years of professional experience
  • Experience in direct automotive electronics OEM Sales or Proejct Management
  • Experience with hardware products, software products, and SaaP
  • Working knowledge of hardware and software concepts
  • Working knowledge of cockpit electronics and ADAS
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis
  • Experience in technical products and services
  • Strong skills in communication, presentation, and problem-solving (customer and internal)

What is Nice to Have

  • MBA with a technical undergrad degree
  • Experience in product portfolio development and/or management
  • Experience with product pricing models including software licensing
  • Technical project management or engineering experience
  • Creative problem solving coupled with a can-do attitude
  • Automotive Cockpit domain expertise
  • Automotive Connected Services experience
