About the Role

The Senior Engineering Manager will coordinate with a team responsible for designing, implementing and testing software solutions for high end, embedded intelligent cockpit systems.

He/She provides strategic guidance to the teams and managers in ways that promote HARMAN culture and will be responsible for delivery and overall success of each program, by supervising and reporting the progress and performance.

What You Will Do

  • Oversees and continuously optimizes development and release processes to ensure best quality solutions are delivered.
  • Responsible to deliver quality software on time and within budget globally.
  • Balance the team members across programs in an efficient way;
  • Responsible for the people reporting to him/her and the working conditions in the department.
  • Review and prioritize issues pre/post-delivery with program management, software domain teams, suppliers (internal and external).
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with cross-functional teams and the customer.
  • Ensure that the software domain team maintains a high level of competence and operational excellence.
  • Drive quality and process compliance to meet ASPICE objectives.
  • Develop and Guide team members with low level design, development and test case engineering with training, reviews, and feedback.
  • Support to analyze and assess RFQs, CRs, customer specifications; develop components based on this information.

What You Need

  • B-Tech/BE, 12-15 years’ experience in embedded software development. 
  • 5+ years of experience in Automotive and Intelligent Cockpit systems.
  • Experience with Linux is a Must. Exposure to QNX, Integrity and Android will be added advantage.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Well organized, meticulous good at understanding the big picture
  • Strong team player with the ability to handle multiple projects

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience in program management with supporting multiple programs at same time
  • Exposure to internet protocols like TCP, UDP
  • Expertise in C, C++, C++11 fluent in concepts of Design Patterns.
  • Expertise in concepts like OOPS, Multithreading, Linux system programming
  • Knowledge of IPC and RPC mechanisms available in Linux
  • Exposure to code generators would be an added advantage
