About the Role

Senior Principal Advanced Sourcing Engineer will be responsible to define and execute advanced sourcing strategy of new technologies to ensure profitability, sustainability and growth goals according to the divisional strategy with cross-functional collaboration within Procurement, Engineering, Customer Account Management, Manufacturing and Partners.


Your Team

This position will report to the Advanced Sourcing & Strategy lead and will be an individual contributor role with no direct or indirect reports.

What You Will Do

  • Define and execute advanced sourcing strategy of new technologies to ensure divisional growth, sustainability and profitability goals.
  • Achieve profitability by ensuring best initial system cost by analyzing market needs, partner opportunities and define technology sourcing roadmap.
  • Leading collaboration with Procurement & BCA teams during the new business quoting phase for new technologies
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) driving investigations on required new technologies and partners to provide complete assessment to the Advanced Engineering teams (Spaces, Platforms and future looking product strategies and RFxs)
  • Lead the new technology & solution introduction by establishing and assessing new technology to meet cost & CO2e targets, ensure timing and technical requirements are met from the new partners.
  • Responsible for the initial new supplier engagement (performance/cost) by technology, supply chain and competitiveness review
  • Develop product base competitive analysis report thru market intelligence activities.
  • Generate synergy project with Samsung and develop the execution plan with the team.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum 12 years work experience in one or more the following areas; Electronics/Advanced E-Mechanical products and Advanced manufacturing automation with product development, project management and product marketing experience
  • Proven experience of state-of-the-art technologies of partners and market needs VM & cost/CO2e optimization
  • Proven technical leadership with demonstrated ability to lead and review the work of other cost engineers.
  • Technical competency in electronic products (Electrical, Mechanical, Semiconductor components)
  • Demonstrated Strong ability to solve complex technical topics through structure solutions.  Must be able to influence others to drive alignment on proposed technical solutions.
  • Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated ability to effectively present complex technical topics.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, highly measured, results focused environment.
  • Proven team player and driver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work with all levels of a global organization.
  • Fluency in English

What is Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in engineering
  • Experience with automotive electronic systems is expected, including experience selecting and/or recommending automotive assemblies.
  • Knowledge or experience of supplier management practices, supplier industry, component market trends, cost drivers, and material cost saving techniques

  • Be willing to travel up to 20%, domestic and international travel.
  • Be willing to work in an office in EU(Any)/NA(Us & Mexico)/APAC(Any) or work remotely full-time with occasional trips to all HARMAN locations.
