About the Role

The Sr. Business Development Manager has full commercial responsibility for the EMEA and APAC regions including supporting the development and executing the immersive audio products for Professional Audio product lines.

The primary mission is to drive demand for HARMAN Immersive Solutions by establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with key decision makers in this market to meet/exceed revenue targets. This person is a market expert who manages all aspects of our immersive commercial strategy.

They will contribute to developing portfolio strategies in line with the long-term strategic vision for this segment and have an in-depth working technical knowledge of these products and their application.  In addition, this role will carry responsibilities to develop new business channels and markets. They are focused on contributing to the channel Managers reaching specific targets through managing and optimizing relationships with the internal software engineers and external key influencers.

What You Will Do

  • Create net-new end user relationships, new end user incentive programs, and ensure the specification of Harman Professional equipment in new projects.
  • Ensure development of annual region Business Plan including action plans and metrics by working with regions.
  • Develop and drive comprehensive training program for our immersive portfolio in EMEA and APAC and support regions on designing, commissioning, and deploying immersive solutions.
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of the existing product range, identifying market trends and opportunities for new product development.
  • Provide input in the specification of new product roadmap by providing the company with an effective market research/market feedback function.
  • Maintain position as Immersive Solutions SME to ensure product teams are accurately defining products based on market feedback in respective region (EMEA and APAC).
  • Prospecting for new business, preparing/presenting proposals and maintaining existing relationships.
  • Perform product demonstrations, seminars and presentations.
  • Supply timely market intelligence and forecasts to management.
  • Share best practices with fellow salespeople, segments and management.
  • Maintain high level of product and market knowledge.

What You Need

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical area such as electronics or marketing  
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management and business development.
  • Have experience writing detailed and sound business plans and product specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to vary their personal style to different audiences including sales and marketing team members, R&D project teams, and end-users.
  • Excellent presentation communication skills for internal and external events.
  • Proven negotiating and motivational skills involved in resourcing projects for new products. 
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Strong networking and referral building ability.
  • PC/Windows skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator.  AutoCAD and EASE/DDA skills a plus.  Will need to be able to learn SAP/R3
