About the Role

This role is about defining the future product portfolio for HARMAN’s Intelligent Cockpit Business Unit. HARMAN is poised to unleash a set of industry changing products over the next several years. This position will focus on scaling our product businesses by driving various customer initiatives.  You will develop the key customer insights that underpin the USPs built into our products.   This position will be the central resource for market and competitive intelligence in the cockpit electronics domain.  You will need to connect all of our products together to create a single portfolio strategy.  As a Product Manager, you will take the lead in the creation of E2E business models for new products based on how they fit into the automotive market landscape. As such, Product Managers act as project managers to drive Finance, Sales and Engineering to provide inputs to new business models.

This role is expected to drive growth by targeted technology deployment, maximizing the potential for sales and margin by creating new and compelling products within the Intelligent Cockpit BU.

What You Will Do

  • Lead go-to market activities for a specific set of Intelligent Cockpit products.  Insure that all relevant USPs are highlighted.
  • Act as the voice of the customer for the product management and development teams.
  • Support the Sales teams with expert product knowledge for early-stage customer engagement.
  • Connect the dots among all the global pursuits to create best-practices that can be used in future product business development.
  • Conduct studies to understand how USPs resonate with consumers and find out their willingness to pay for these features.
  • Assess the targets prices for all respective products by investigating won and lost pursuits (target price walk).
  • Create a customer landscape (overview of all customers) outlining the customer strategies in the respective product areas to determine where the real potential exists (SoM assessment).
  • Preparation of portfolio overview presentation material for internal and external consumption.
  • Market and competitive intelligence gathering with data analysis.
  • Formulate product ideas based on market research, target customer data and technology roadmaps
  • Document and present product-based opportunities for evaluation by senior leadership

What You Need

  • University degree in Engineering or Business
  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Experience in direct automotive electronics OEM Sales or Project Management
  • Experience with hardware products, software products, and SaaP
  • Working knowledge of hardware and software concepts
  • Working knowledge of cockpit electronics and ADAS
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis
  • Experience in technical products and services
  • Strong skills in communication, presentation, and problem-solving (customer and internal)

What is Nice to Have

  • MBA with a technical undergrad degree
  • Experience in product portfolio development and/or management
  • Experience with product pricing models including software licensing
  • Technical project management or engineering experience
  • Creative problem solving coupled with a can-do attitude
  • Automotive Cockpit domain expertise
  • Automotive Connected Services experience
