About the role:

You are a passionate Systems Engineering professional, who is enthusiastic about Automotive electronics and wants to define future ADAS/AD systems and in-cabin user experience.

As Principal System Engineer within the ADAS LAB, you are an expert on ADAS/AD systems, and you have a proficient high-level understanding of all relevant neighboring domains. In our ADAS Lab, you will develop system definitions, derive system requirements, and execute system analyses. With your peers within the Design, Architecture & Validation Concepts team, you will design scalable, market- and segment-specific ADAS integration concepts for different controller families comprising the full spectrum from system definition to manufacturing impact.

What You Will Do

  • Develop stakeholder compliant system definitions, derive system requirements, and jointly execute system level analyses with relevant SMEs (Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, system performance, bus load estimations, etc.).
  • Ensure all relevant stakeholder needs & requirements (e.g., from market, customer, supplier, regulation, consumer protection standpoint, etc.) are considered.
  • Ensure system definition is modular, reusable, testable and consistent with applicable industry standards & best practices.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, customers, partners, and suppliers to design ADAS/AD systems for Infotainment Domain Controller with ADAS capabilities up to central compute units. 
  • Support technology and partnership scouting as well as technical due diligence.

What You Need

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable experience.
  • 5 years hands-on experience in system design incl. Functional Safety of real-time and safety critical ADAS/AD systems (Highway Assist, Traffic Jam Pilot/Highway Pilot, Automated Parking Assist, etc.) in OEM programs.
  • Core expertise in ADAS/AD driving automation features descriptions, system context definitions, and system integration as well as its interactions with all others relevant domains.
  • Good understanding of Functional Safety (ISO26262), Safety of the intended Functionality (ISO21448) and Cybersecurity (ISO21434).
  • Good understanding of regulatory (e.g.; GSR, UNECE, etc.) & consumer protection frameworks (e.g.; E-NCAP, C-NCAP, etc.), relevant standards and upcoming amendments.
  • Advanced understanding of model-based systems engineering, SysML, and respective tooling as well as of ADAS/AD sensors for ego and environmental sensing, ADAS/AD actuators for vehicle control and of technology and trends (e.g., L3/L4 systems) inside the system domain.
