Description & Requirements

What You Will Do

• Understand business requirements, associate them with agile entities (epics/stories/tasks) for planning and execution

• Design and Development of Android framework interfaces and services that are able to run on top of Linux container

• Customizing the Android layers (eg: audio, video, graphics, camera ) and integrating with the Head unit applications.

• Co-working with User concept to bring the product-based design concept.

• Technically mentor and lead a team of engineers with core capability around Android Framework.

• Solid expertise in AOSP, Android framework, and services (such as Multimedia, and camera). Android Framework and Native development (HAL) , Android graphics pipeline, DRM, Codecs, and customizations.
• Must have worked on Android framework customization extensively (Windows Manager,
Views, Audio, Video, Connectivity, Power Module, etc.)

• Good experience in working in Linux Kernel configurations to enable the Android container and VM-based solutions.

• Good knowledge in Hardware abstraction layers in Android and/or Linux.

• Excellent in Java, Android SDK, Android NDK
• Android KPI, Boot, and Memory optimizations
• Experience on Android HIDL interfaces implementation and customizations
• Android CTS, VTS and GTS debugging and issue fixing
• Features and enhancements for customers.
• Ensure the delivery of features in scope, time, and quality.
• Ensure that the SW process is applied in the project in consultation with SW-APQP.
• Report status, issues and progress of the SW development to the SW project lead
• Effort estimation for Change Requests from Product Management
• Ensure pre-integration testing and verification for the functional area and its features.
• Ensure the implementation of defined test strategies and document the achieved results.

• Working with multi-location team and product owners to bring the customer-centric android app integration in Car multimedia

• Quick learning of both Embedded Android and Linux technologies to perform the full stack Android development.

What You Need

• Masters/bachelor’s degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering or a similar discipline.

• 15+  years of experience on embedded systems, with focus on Android Framework and Native development.
• Strong Java, C++ programming skills.
• Understanding of Android Boot Sequence and various Framework module architecture.
• Hands on troubleshooting issues on run-time environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Android System concepts.
• Should have experience on Android development and debugging robust systems
• Proficient in multi-threaded programming and middleware solution development on Android environment. Strong in fundamentals of IPC and OS concepts.
• Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing complex software defects.
• Good experience in Android internals (Android O Car preferred).
• Android build, porting, and customization experience.
• System-level debugging.

  •  Prior hands-on experience with embedded software development for Automotive Products is a strong plus.
