About the Role

This position is located between the development and the local test-engineering teams and represents the interests and requirements of the Global AME in the area of production test engineering.

What You Will Do

As a Principal Engineer working for a Global Testing Group, you will be the contact person between development, local test engineering, and the Global AME. You will support:


  • Invest and test time estimation, based on the Harman Test Platform (HTP).

  • Represent the Global AME interests in the several meetings (Team1, HW/SW- Meetings, etc.).

  • Close cooperation with regional and local test-engineering teams, IPMs, development teams, and PMs.

From Test Concepts to Implementation:

  • Developing test concepts in cooperation with the HW/SW/Mechanic- development, the local and global test-engineering.

  • The request of quotations at different vendors, review of the quotations, and including/supporting the procurement department.

  • Contact person for the selected vendors, monitoring of the implementation.

  • Support of different meetings (test planning meeting, Team1, HW- and SW- Meetings)

Global Standards:

  • Bringing global standards to the attention of local teams and ensuring compliance with them.

  • Continuous development of global standards and best practices

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preference for engineering or equivalent (industrial, mechanical, or electrical).

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for PCBA-based electronic assemblies, and mechatronics with the latest microprocessors & SMT components.

  • 8+ years of experience with automotive electronics testing, preferably audio and/or infotainment modules.

  • Knowledge of business administration.

  • Knowledge of supplier management.

  • Good communication skills.

What is Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Harman BMS.

  • Knowledge of design for PCBAs.

  • Be willing to travel up to 20%, domestic and international travel.

  • This role is located in Novi, MI (Must be local to Metro Detroit; Hybrid)
