About the Role

The Director of People Analytics and Planning will lead the development of HARMANs People analytics team and drive innovative solutions to deliver timely insights to the business. They will be responsible for developing the strategy for people data, strategic workforce planning and support organizational effectiveness efforts across the company. This includes playing a hands-on role in developing data tools and performing advanced analysis and research that provides thought provoking insights to the business. The leader will manage the development, growth and engagement of the People Analytics team and build a culture of data-driven decision making throughout HARMAN.  This role is critical in supporting our business and HR strategies by collaborating with key stakeholders and building a deep understanding of our HARMAN businesses.

Your Team

The Director of People Analytics and Planning will report into the Vice President, Global HR Technology and Analytics. This position will have 3 direct reports and 4-6 matrix reports.

What You Will Do

  • Build and execute on a world class People Analytics strategy; to lead the evolution of People analytics at HARMAN’s enabling the business in real-time decision making and providing impactful predictions/forecasts.
  • Partner closely with CoEs, senior HR and business leaders to understand their business challenges and develop appropriate analytics, and visualization solutions.
  • Establish strong partnerships with HR CoEs including Global Rewards, Talent Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition and HARMAN U to ensure aligned analytics strategies.
  • Develop and maintain strategic workforce planning strategy, processes and tools, in partnership with Finance and the Global HRBP community, to identify short and long-term workforce needs.
  • Partner with HR and Business leaders in identifying metrics associated with organizational and Leader/manager effectiveness, and support establishment of an organizational effectiveness measurement approach across HARMAN to support strategic HR Business Partners.
  • Establish a research mindset and conduct research to support business decisions on trends such as (but not limited to) the future of work, distributed workforce, manager and leader effectiveness.
  • Maintain a strong external focus within the Analytics space (and the HR function broadly) to be able to lead innovative approaches and generate industry best practices.
  • Educate the Global HR community on the importance and use of reporting & analytics strategies to grow the capabilities of the global HR function.
  • Actively stay abreast of and research macroeconomic conditions across the globe to support future business growth and optimization of global talent footprint.
  • Manage a matrix team of Division/Region analytics specialists and build out additional team as required. 

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in workforce or people analytics generating meaningful, actionable insights for business leaders and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to tell a story through data and communicate effectively with senior leadership and other key stakeholders; mastery of advanced visualization and analytical techniques with an ability to translate findings for a general business audience
  • Experience with diverse analytics methodologies and approaches; expert ability to connect HR data/metrics to business metrics/results.
  • Qualitative research, design, and analysis including natural language processing and sentiment analysis.
  • Ability to influence and persuade without formal authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration skills, and communication skills
  • Proven track record of leading and building teams. Ability to get into the details while appropriately setting and communicating broader strategy.

What is Nice to Have
