About the Role

HARMAN Automotive is experiencing incredible growth and relies on data-driven insights to further the business growth and innovation. We have launched a new project to improve our overall data architecture, quality, and management. To support this goal, we are seeking a talented and experienced Data Analyst to support the redesign of our data architecture, instill a data-driven culture, and implement robust data governance practices.

Your Team

Data Analyst will report into Senior Manager, Data Analytics- BUI Automotive Business Systems.

What You Will Do

  • Translates business strategy and vision into a data strategy through partnerships with key business stakeholders.
  • Maps business stakeholder needs to appropriate data architecture patterns and evolves data architecture as business strategies and technologies mature.
  • Lead and manage activities to map data and information inputs and outputs for business functions and processes.
  • Support the development of data modeling policies and standards, Meta-data standards and nomenclature, to guide information decision making for the enterprise.
  • Support Data Cataloging and governance framework in Alation.
  • Collaborate with Master Data Governance team to:
    • develop and maintain project level data and database design,
    • ensure new capabilities comply with the enterprise data architecture standards.
    • design and implement robust data governance and master data management frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Develop and enforce data modeling and naming standards to promote consistency and clarity across data assets.

What You Need

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience as a data analyst in a large enterprise environment working across business domains.
  • At least 5 years work experience in analytical roles, information/data architecture, or application architecture
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, techniques, and tools.
  • Experience designing and implementing data governance and master data management frameworks.
  • Proficiency in data mapping methodologies and industry standards.
  • Demonstrate architectural best practices across technologies to solve organizational problems, articulate views, and roadmaps for future development.
  • Proactively monitor strategic direction of Solution Vendors, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impact and value to the enterprise.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate on complex concepts with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to conduct thorough analysis and identify practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion.
  • Prior experience in Automotive industry is a plus.

Preferred Certifications / Licenses

Relevant certifications - Certified Data Management Professional, TOGAF, ITIL, AWS, DAMA, MDM, etc. are a plus.
