About the Role

Harman International is a global leading company for audio related products. Person for this position will be marketing communication manager to lead short-to-long term marketing communication growth strategy from development to execution. In parallel, you will be in charge of every marketing activity mainly for the consumer and some professional audio. Products such as speakers, headphones, amplifiers microphone or related products and professional audio for cinema, concert/ live hall with various brand such as JBL, Harman/Kardon, Mark Levinson etc. will be within scope of this role. You will support the marketing activities of Harman Japan, which includes such things as creative development, advertisement, responding to customers’ queries and comments on social media, and marketing events. This person covers across all product categories and brands. He/she should have in-depth marketing communication, including digital marketing experiences and EC experts are also highly desired. You will work closely with cross-function teams to ensure excellence in execution, as well as global Business Units. You should also provide forward-thinking ideas to build the brand in a locally relevant way.

Ultimately, you should be able to drive all marketing efforts to achieve our business objectives.

As a people leader, (recruit and on-board, when necessary) grow and engage Marketing talent.

This position will supervise an associate who responsible in-store merchandising/ POP including marketing promotion.

What You Will Do

  • Develop & Execute the marketing strategy which can integrate for Consumer & Professional Solutions business and directs marketing communications including: branding, public relations, advertising, social media, digital marketing, e-commerce, website optimization, Internet strategy and content creation, trade shows/events and promotions.
  • Advertisements, Brand Campaigns, Digital Campaigns, PR & Press interactions, Creative support and in-store merchandising, consumer promotions by well managing partner agencies.
  • Develop route to market which fits the Japanese Customer’s and Consumer’s needs.
  • Strategize, Plan and Execute local activations based on strategic brand reviews, creative thinking, and consumer & trade needs.
  • Brand Activation by developing breakthrough creative ideas that put HARMAN at the center of cultural discourse and grow brand awareness, equity, engagement and scale our communications messaging.
  • Influencer Activation by owning consumer facing activations and events and lead the activation of platforms, strategic properties and otherwise to launch products and simultaneously build Harman’s brands.
  • Launch Product Marketing campaigns in discussion with business development leaders across brands / product categories.
  • Analyzes consumer and market trends and information to help identify product categories to enter as future sources of growth, also to Develop and track metrics and success criteria for all marketing program activities.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to implement ecommerce platforms by working closely with 3rd party ecommerce partners to maximize brand and product exposure & digital marketing strategies to support sell through efforts. Support and Operationalize and execute all digital marketing campaigns from concept through end of campaign reporting.
  • Support regular campaign reports for global marketing folks.
  • Monthly reports, campaign reports working closely with stakeholders.
  • Engage with the Marketing team and build the effective team (KPI is employee engagement survey and passion for music survey).

What You Need

  • 8+ years of solid B2C Consumer Marketing Experience, B2B also preferrable with Experience/Knowledge of consumer audio with latest technologies and consumer products
  • Marketing communication management experience 3-5 years
  • Proven Track-record of executing with excellence 
  • Critical skills include: Innovative marketing strategist, a result driven, Strong creative instincts, Ability to think BIG and lead from the front, Branding including digital marketing, product management preferrable
  • Ability to collaborate, to create team-oriented environment & to multitask in a matrix organization
  • Strategic Thinker and commitment for contents execution with consumer centric mind set
  • Full of curiosity to identify opportunity for growth by well analyzing complex consumer &market data
  • Excellent time management, able to balance many projects at once, presentation skills to craft high quality PPT presentation decks, Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both in Japanese and English
  • To work in a diversified business challenges and complexity in the multi-national company
  • Able to work in fast-changing environment
  • Commitment to driving results
  • University bachelor’s degree or above & Business-level Japanese and English
