About the Role

The Legal Specialist position will be responsible for providing a wide range of support to the legal department. This position will perform a variety of law-related tasks under the direction of the organization’s counsels. Some major responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents and performing other related duties.

What You Will Do

  • Assist Senior Director to prepare, review, negotiate and draft contracts and related contract templates, agreements, applications and other legal documents.
  • Under the supervision by Senior Director, review simple indirect sourcing agreement, review contracts/agreements developed based on template.
  • Conduct legal research assigned by Senior Director.
  • Assist on Corporate Governance matters, including but not limited to draft related documents under Senior Director’s guidance, assist to register/file the changes of legal entities to related government authorities and manage and maintain such corporate records.
  • Translate English and Japanese legal documents.
  • Coordinate on major projects.
  • File, maintain and custody all legal documents.
  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel on various legal matters.
  • Routine administrative support to Senior Director.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or above with major in Law or a dual degree for English & Law, overseas master law education is preferred.
  • Passed Bar exam.
  • Basic skill and experience in legal document draft, review, negotiation and related problem resolution.
  • Excellent written and oral language skills in both Chinese and English.
  • Self-motivated, creative and resourceful with good communication/ interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills.
  • High level of responsibility and integrity.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Minimum 2 years legal working experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department of a multinational company.
