About the Role

The position will be responsible for program procurement and regional operation support for Mechanical parts, from business pursiut, supplier recommendation, project execution, to follow up activities after SOP.

What You Will Do

  • Participate business pursuit activities, including initial cost estimation, RFI, supplier selection planning, capacity planning, ideation, design and technical review, etc.
  • Develop and execute project level supplier selection strategy, in alignment with global category strategy and supplier strategy.
  • Manage and/or lead supplier selection process, including but not limited to preparation and evaluation of RFIs, RFPs and RFQ’s, feasibility study, gap analysis and closure, negotiations, and sourcing approval.
  • Program timeline management to meet with key milestones such as tooling kick off, FOT, DV, PV and PPAP target date. Support to resolve the problems proactively.
  • Set up supplier information appropriately in system (eg. SAP, Ariba, Tooling database), including but not limited to pricing, lead time, payment term, MOQ, PPAP target dates, tooling capacity and/or life, production capacity.
  • Operation support, including follow up activities after SOP.
  • Work closely with category team to create and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Support development category strategy with both corporate and regional stakeholders to continually enhance Harman’s market position, as well as meeting supply chain and business requirements.
  • Enhance local supply base to achieve the best total cost of ownership and services.
  • Identify and evaluate market changes and new technologies -- make appropriate fact-based recommendations for adoption by Harman stakeholders
  • Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goals and best cost.
  • Proactively manage supply risk and support resolving supply issues and quality complaints to ensure supply continuity and security to Harman global production plants.
  • Manage supplier capacity analysis including tooling capacity, tooling budget, tooling lifecycle management.
  • Establish strong vendor relationships including senior level.
  • Establish goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting related to areas of responsibility.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or engineering discipline
  • 5 years of experience in Procurement in automotive industry
  • Demonstrated experience within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization
  • Fluent English
  • Strategic thinking and self-driven attitude
