Our Supply Chain and Procurement organization is instrumental to our success at HARMAN. The team is strategically aligned globally with our business partners to be best-in-class in commodity management, logistics operations, product sourcing, supplier quality and purchase-to-pay operations. Our teams are working to secure future success in multiple areas of HARMAN’s business scope by developing and executing cost savings initiatives to meet corporate goals.
The Supply Chain and Procurement organization is a centralized global function. Our teams around the globe are managing projects for our strong, diverse product portfolio. Some of our teams are developing and maintaining various supply chain plans and strategies, which may involve coordinating and overseeing manufacturing operations in order to forecast orders and meet customer demands.
We also manage and lead VA/VE efforts to optimize spend in assigned areas of the business. And, due to the knowledge of our teams, we also support new product introduction (NPI) initiatives and work with engineering on design-to-cost activities, with the purpose of winning new business for HARMAN.
Typically, some of the roles within our Supply Chain and Procurement organization are; sourcing specialist, senior sourcing specialist, category manager, product sourcing manager, demand planning specialist, senior demand planner and demand planning manager. No matter the role, our team members all possess top-notch communication, analytical and collaboration skills.
We’re dedicated to ensuring that our teams are tasked with challenging, meaningful work. Together, we perform strategic sourcing, cost analysis, supplier negotiations, contract and supplier management, market research and trend analysis and strategic planning that helps position HARMAN has a strong, world-class organization.
