About the Role

The Sr. Delivery Manager, Software (AR HUD), for the NextGen initiative will “lead leaders” in innovative delivery of evolutionary and revolutionary products within the automotive cockpit.As a part of our Next Generation engineering team, you will lead the development of the Augmented Reality (AR) Heads Up Display bringing in AR to help drivers navigate effectively and intuitively. This is a leading-edge development, and a great opportunity to work with some incredibly passionate, creative people, and high-end car makers.

In this role, you will serve as the gate between program management, senior leadership, and the global software domains thereby allowing the software domain teams to focus on the execution of the agreed-upon plan while concurrently looking forward to organizing and aligning future work with program management/leadership. The ability to digest large amounts of information (specifications, processes, test reports, customer/internal feedback, etc.) and understand what needs to happen next on the team are an absolute must in this role.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical solutions and coordinate software domain issues

  • Oversee the daily activities of 3-4 global software domain teams to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.

  • Drive quality and process compliance to meet ASPICE objectives.

  • Work with the Software Platform teams collaboratively around the globe (India, China, Germany, United States, Mexico, Russia).

  • Review and prioritize issues pre/post-delivery with program management, software domain teams, and suppliers (internal and external).

  • Build positive and productive working relationships with cross-functional teams and the customer.

  • Ensure that the software domain team maintains a high level of competence and operational excellence.

  • Develop process improvements (tailoring) to achieve cost-effectiveness and time-saving

  • Develop recommendations for meeting customer expectations.

  • Perform resource allocations and workload assignments according to delivery requirements

  • Report status of software domains to the leadership team

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science.

  • Ph.D. degree in Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in corporate or academic research; alternatively, a Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned fields and 12 years of experience in research and development or a Bachelor’s Degree and 16 years of experience

  • Minimum of 10 + years of professional experience in embedded software development

  • Proven technical leadership.

  • Experience in software development processes using CMMI or ASPICE models.

  • Experience with software planning methods and the ability to use them effectively

  • Experience working in the technology industry or automotive industry

  • Well organized, meticulous good at understanding the big picture

  • Strong team player with the ability to handle multiple projects

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and passionate about technology

  • Fast learner, able to process and summarize, correctly, large amounts of information

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

What is Nice to Have

  • 10+ years of software development process experience using CMMI or ASPICE models.

  • 10+ years of proven experience with software planning methods and the ability to use them effectively

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deliver information at the VP/Director level

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, responds to customer needs quickly and effectively, adapts to change

  • Strong listening skills; demonstrates the ability to ask effective questions

  • Deep understanding of software development/engineering lifecycle from conception to delivery

  • Demonstrated leadership through influence

  1. Engineer

    An entry level role, the degreed Engineer knows and applies basic concepts and techniques of the profession under direct supervision and guidance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree

  2. Senior Engineer

    A Senior Engineer provides a wider variety of technical support tasks using a combination of advanced engineering principles and techniques. They operate with little guidance/supervision as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in their defined area of specialization. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years’ experience.

  3. Principal Engineer

    Principal Engineers are recognized as an emerging expert. They lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or process while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 12 years’ experience.

  4. Senior Principal Engineer

    Recognized as a technical expert, Senior Principal Engineers consistently demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity. They develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of their specialty. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 16 years’ experience.

  5. Distinguished Engineer

    A Distinguished Engineer has a strong record of creativity and innovation. They advance engineering principles, theories and concepts, and are recognized as a Company-wide authority in one or more technical areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years’ experience.

  6. Fellow

    A Fellow is an industry recognized expert with a significant body of peer reviewed research and journal publications and frequently speaks at conferences. Acts as a HARMAN ambassador. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 25 years’ experience.

  7. Senior Fellow

    A Senior Fellow is the most accomplished of an elite group of engineers, widely recognized as a World renowned expert in their field of expertise. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 30 years’ experience.
