About the Role

The Senior Manager for Product Management Design leads a global team of experts to drive and define the Product, Platform strategy, and GTM plans for Augmented Reality.  You will consolidate the regional differences and develop customer-centric product roadmaps, define innovative business models across the AR product lines, and align with HARMAN’s greater Automotive portfolio. Product lines include AR HUD, HOE, and AR Glasses.


What You Will Do

  • You will create compelling and differentiated product propositions based on market needs, customer segments, and technical feasibility, aligned to overarching product strategy; while ensuring product delivery from ideation to launch.

  • This position will drive revenue and margin expansion of existing product lines by partnering closely with HARMAN customer groups including pricing strategies through the Digital Cockpit business unit.

  • With a focus on being the voice of the customer, you will be responsible for anticipating market needs and ensuring requirements are fed into the global management framework. 

  • The end goal is to position the Digital Cockpit Business Unit to remain the market leader in Digital Cockpit solutions and drive profitable growth for the division. 

  • Define product positioning- define features and roadmap/main releases, create and maintain a business plan including pricing, and maintain a status dashboard

  • Create and maintain a roadmap for feature sets across the Digital Cockpit product line

  • Develop and lead a market-driven requirements forum that includes the systems, software, and program management teams.

  • Support market and customer analysis: sync with Marketing/RFQ team, define and size market segments, determine trends and relevant changes in the international law based on close contact with customers and partners

  • Conduct competitor analyses and analyze competitive landscape/products

  • Identify areas for potential partnerships for software/hardware development and identify and recommend potential partners.

  • Lead project management processes and discipline for the business unit.

  • Support Tech Days exhibitions, and manage the relationship with customers, partners, and other leading companies in the area. Organize frequent demos of the completed work to stakeholders

  • Drive internal and external marketing plans and support RFQ teams to acquire new business.

  • Develop and refine business case metrics and support governance process for approval of roadmap and feature sets.

  • Provide proactive and Innovative ideas on ways to differentiate our products from the competition and “delight” customers

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

  • 5+ years in Automotive Product Management

  • 12-15 years of technical experience

  • Strong Business Acumen, MBA a plus

  • Experience working in a global organization or on a global product

  • Strong skills in communication, presentation, and problem-solving (customer and internal)

What is Nice to Have

  • Know-how of current infotainment systems & digital cockpit solutions

  • Knowledge of business case development and basic financial metrics

  • Fluent and effective communicator and external presenter

  3. Principal Engineer

    Principal Engineers are recognized as an emerging expert. They lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or process while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 12 years’ experience.

  4. Senior Principal Engineer

    Recognized as a technical expert, Senior Principal Engineers consistently demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity. They develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of their specialty. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 16 years’ experience.

  5. Distinguished Engineer

    A Distinguished Engineer has a strong record of creativity and innovation. They advance engineering principles, theories and concepts, and are recognized as a Company-wide authority in one or more technical areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years’ experience.

  6. Fellow

    A Fellow is an industry recognized expert with a significant body of peer reviewed research and journal publications and frequently speaks at conferences. Acts as a HARMAN ambassador. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 25 years’ experience.

  7. Senior Fellow

    A Senior Fellow is the most accomplished of an elite group of engineers, widely recognized as a World renowned expert in their field of expertise. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 30 years’ experience.
