About the Role

Reporting to the Sr. Director, Automotive North America HR leader, the Car Audio HR leader will be responsible for the overall Human Resources function within the Car Audio SBU and reports indirectly the SVP & GM, Car Audio SBU located in Novi, MI. Car Audio is a $1.3B Revenue and growing 10% year over year with more than 700+ employees and 4,000 indirect employees located in 13 countries. This role will oversee all HR programs as it relates to the SBU and will make significant contributions as part of the HR automotive leadership team.

Your Team

Will oversee 1 HR Manager direct report and 10 indirect reports

What You Will Do

  • Directs, coaches and provides leadership to Senior Management, and Managers in all HR areas
  • Executes and evolves strategic policies, practices and procedures to support business goals and company growth
  • Provides advice and direction to leaders, managers and employees related to performance management, employee relations, recruitment, succession planning, compensation, compliance, training & development and organizational design driving the Car Audio SBU to further growth
  • Accurately interprets, counsels, communicates and educates Senior Management, directors, managers and staff on HR policies and procedures
  • Partners with the business to support various HR initiatives
  • Leading talent acquisition team for SBU which includes end to end for Americas, Europe and APAC in partnership with Corporate Talent Acquisition.
  • Develops and implements HR policies and procedures
  • Assists with company reorganization as applicable
  • Comprehensive HR management and leadership skills supporting a globally diverse employee population in both functional and operational areas
  • Design and administer certain business HR policies and procedures that are required within the Division but aligned with Corporate HR policies
  • In partnership with Division Rewards lead, manage and oversee the Car Audio SBU global compensation function to include coordination of the annual merit review process, target tracking and bonus calculation processes, compensation analyses, and benchmarking activities.
  • Accurately interpret, counsel, communicate, and educate managers and staff on compensation policies and procedures to ensure smooth operation of business HR activities
  • Oversee various HR projects and programs as assigned

What You Need

  • 10-15 years of relevant Global HR Business Partnering, talent management and compensation experience with a SHRM or GPHR designation a plus
  • At least 5+ years in a HR leadership role interacting with executive leadership
  • Experience in managing global programs, interacting with global HR colleagues and leading teams and complex global projects. This includes proven skillset of acquisitions, merger, and divestiture and site closure project.
  • Proven experience in managing change management activities
  • International HR experience required specifically focused on US, Mexico, European countries, China, Korea and Japan.
  • SAP/ADP payroll and HRIS technology experience a plus

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 10-15%, domestic and international travel
  • Be willing to work in an office in Novi, MI
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
  • This position requires the use of a use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN’s sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years
