About the Role

This position is within HARMAN’s Car Audio business and is responsible for managing the customer relationship between Harman and the assigned customer.


What You Will Do

  • Manage outsourced validation activities associated with development and ongoing production.
  • Liaison between project teams and customer validation leadership.
  • Develop, review and obtain approvals (internal and externals) for validation plans.
  • Review and approve outsourced validation plans.
  • Negotiate modified validation plans with customer.
  • Considering engineering input, develop, negotiate and document accelerated test plans when necessary.
  • Develop validation plans when parts from multiple manufacturing sites must be tested. Ensure proper coverage of all locations while minimizing test volume.
  • Seek clarification/negotiation of customer validation specifications.
  • Coordinate with different departments domestically and internationally. Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, and other activities in the framework of an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Become the Harman expert regarding specific customer specifications and expectations.

What You Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in BSCE, BSEE, BSCS or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years minimum in a validation role
  • Demonstrated experience functioning in a highly collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced environment.
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Dedicated performer with the ability to advocate appropriately for product quality.
  • Capable project management and time management skills.
  • Office productivity software.

  3. Principal Engineer

    Principal Engineers are recognized as an emerging expert. They lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or process while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 12 years’ experience.

  4. Senior Principal Engineer

    Recognized as a technical expert, Senior Principal Engineers consistently demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity. They develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of their specialty. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 16 years’ experience.

  5. Distinguished Engineer

    A Distinguished Engineer has a strong record of creativity and innovation. They advance engineering principles, theories and concepts, and are recognized as a Company-wide authority in one or more technical areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years’ experience.

  6. Fellow

    A Fellow is an industry recognized expert with a significant body of peer reviewed research and journal publications and frequently speaks at conferences. Acts as a HARMAN ambassador. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 25 years’ experience.

  7. Senior Fellow

    A Senior Fellow is the most accomplished of an elite group of engineers, widely recognized as a World renowned expert in their field of expertise. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 30 years’ experience.
