About the Role

As our IP Specialist, you will provide Harman's Global IP team and the Northridge, CA office with a wide range of support including administrative matters.

What You Will Do

  • Assist with legal matters such as intellectual property prosecution and opposition matters, preparing intellectual property related evidence for global proceedings and litigation matters
  • Assist with the management of the global intellectual property management portal and docketing intellectual property matters
  • Assist with managing domain and enforcement actions including identifying counterfeits, analyzing global data, preparing reports, and working closely with investigators and vendors
  • Update all contact lists, tradeshow list and other relevant information for the IP team
  • Manage annuity payments for the global design portfolio
  • Draft correspondence and other documents; file documents electronically and in paper format
  • Coordinate trainings, meetings and events, and prepare presentation slides and expense reports
  • Serve as a central point of contact for general team information and respond tactfully and promptly to inquiries; keep the team organized in a fast-paced constantly changing environment

What You Need

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Legal Assistant or similar support role in a corporate law department
  • Trademark, anti-counterfeiting, design patent and intellectual property docketing and management experience
  • Domain management experience
  • Advanced level proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience with document management systems a plus, including Anaqua, Conga (f/k/a Novatus) and Tracker (f/k/a Serengeti)
  • Litigation experience a plus
  • Design patent management a plus
  • College degree preferred
