About the Role

The Director, North America Distribution & Global Logistics will provide leadership in the global strategy development, business process design and operational execution of Professional Solutions logistics. Scope of responsibility includes global inbound supply chain network design and execution control, as well as North America regional distribution center operations, physical inventory management, and order fulfilment execution including outbound logistics. The candidate is responsible for 3PL and 4PL operational performance, customer satisfaction with HARMAN’s delivery performance, and has ownership over distribution logistics related costs. The successful candidate is a leader who builds a network of trust internally and externally, based on HARMAN’s values and professional service and physical delivery. This experienced leader should be a solution-based thinker who is able to anticipate problems and collaborate with appropriate groups within and outside of the organization to develop solutions that improve the process, reduce cost, and enhance the customer experience. As a thought leader, s/he is expected to engage internal and external expertise to improve Professional Solutions logistics network with passion in continuous improvement, strong processes and team development.


The position coordinates teams of multi-levels operations in different countries, with different cultures in different time zones.


What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute Harman Professional end to end logistics strategy in alignment with senor leadership, sales regions, distribution operations and supply chain teams.

  • Create short, mid and long term strategy goals, objectives and ensure best class global logistics and distribution operations

  • Lead a team of 11 reports and 6 indirect reports in different times zones, countries and cultures.

  • Be an agent of positive change: Improve internal / external customer satisfaction by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; establishing and communicating service metrics; monitoring and analyzing results.

  • Lead an effective global logistics for Professional Solutions, including ownership of inbound and outbound transportation solutions and services, and warehousing/ distribution services. Ensure logistics services are procured at a competitive cost, and operational and cost performance meet targets. Design and operate a network and solutions that supports improved resilience, efficiency, and sustainability.

  • Lead regional distribution in North America to enable monthly, quarterly & yearly revenue recognition targets, meet and improve distribution costs and inventory levels, lead customer order fulfillment in the region


What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations or another related field, or equivalent experience in distribution, warehousing, logistics and/or operations management

  • 10+ years of related experience in the areas of supply chain and Logistics with a preference in electronics distribution, delivery, and warehousing

  • Proven ability to lead a global, cross-functional organization

  • Data oriented mindset and strong analytical skills required

  • Drive for continuous improvement and Lean mindset

  • Ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills


What is Nice to Have

  • Experience in developing data analytics

  • Experience managing 3PLs a plus

  • Ability to balance workload, set priorities and achieve key deliverables

  • Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

  • Lean Sigma certification

  • Willingness to travel 45% of the time

  • Willingness to work across multiple time zones when needed
