What You Will Do:

  • Customer Requirements
    • Lead a team of Customer Quality Leaders to bring the voice of customer into our daily work
    • Represent Harman at customer meetings, conferences, and training and deploy the information throughout the organization.
    • Ensure Harman is compliant with the latest customer quality requirements.  Audit manufacturing sites in support of launches, transfers, and customer related issues.
  • Planning and Cost Control
    • Drive continual improvement projects aligned to Global Automotive strategy and goals.
    • Plan and manage operational and capital budgets for the Customer Quality group.
    • Identify Cost of Quality drivers; take action to minimize internal and external costs to Harman while protecting customer satisfaction.
  • Quality Metrics
    • Monitor customer scorecards to ensure accuracy; initiate steps to resolve inaccuracies.
    • Present Voice of Customer information to Harman’s executive team: identify risks and opportunities, present the internal customer team’s action plans.
    • Compile and analyze 0 Km (Initial quality) and field / warranty metrics.  Work across functions to drive actions to meet and exceed targets.  Present Harman’s progress versus targets to customer along with improvement action plans where necessary.
  • Problem Solving
    • Continually Problem-Solving Process, Tools, and Training for HARMAN globally
    • Champion 0Km and warranty investigations to closure (speaker, amplifier, head unit) through effective problem solving and reporting
    • Ensure efficient parts and information flow to facilitate problem solving, read across, and lessons learned (Yokoten)
    • Audit manufacturing sites to ensure failures are corrected and share best practices between manufacturing sites
    • Identify systemic issues affecting customer satisfaction and develop and manage Quality Improvement Plans to address them

What You Need:

  • Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree with a preference for engineering or equivalent (electrical or mechanical)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible and successful experience in a quality leadership role, or a combination of engineering and quality roles in an operations or development environment.
  • Must have 2+ years of experience using AIAG guidelines (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA)
  • Must have excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with electronics, preferably audio, infotainment modules and/or consumer electronics.
  • Practical experience in root cause analysis using tools , Fault Tree Analysis, Root Cause Failure Analysis, Fish bone, Pareto, 5Y, Is-Is not, Cause and Effect, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required.
