About the Role

The Marketing Lead EMEA – Retail will be responsible for determining, overseeing and executing all marketing activity for HARMAN Professional Solution’s brands in the retail space across EMEA. You will partner with the EMEA Marketing Director and the EMEA Heads of Audio and Retail to drive the commercial success of the category by leveraging your in-depth knowledge of MI products, the MI retail industry and our target customers to build excitement around our brands and a high level of engagement with our customers.

The successful candidate will be passionate about marketing and the results that effective marketing can bring to the business. You will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced culture of change, and able to think strategically and prioritise while paying careful attention to detail. To be successful in this role you must forge partnerships with multiple disciplines including Sales, Business Development, Global Marketing, Digital Marketing, Creative Marketing, Product Segments, Sales Operations, Technical Services and Finance.

What You Will Do

  • This role covers HARMAN’s MI Retail products
  • Partner with EMEA Marketing Director and EMEA Head of Retail Audio to apply your deep understanding of MI products, the MI industry and our customers to drive the commercial success of the category and determine the strategic priorities for Retail
  • Support Amazon sales by providing appropriate online merchandising and developing AMS plans
  • Proactively assess the marketing needs of the business, expertly advising on new ideas and initiatives to help support and drive business objectives and deliver robust marketing plans
  • Ensure execution excellence for all marketing activities, working closely with channel & product teams as needed
  • Work effectively with your marketing counterparts and other stakeholders as appropriate to deliver integrated campaigns, directly managing execution on PR, Advertising, Content and leveraging Digital, Creative and Retail Sales teams to execute in these areas for your category
  • Work alongside other internal teams, including Sales, BD, Global PR, Global Marketing, Technical Services, to ensure seamless internal and external communication and manage external creative agencies and suppliers as required
  • Collaborate closely with distribution and retail partners to ensure seamless activation in all markets, sharing knowledge and measuring effectiveness to help drive the transition from transactional to a partnership relationship with key customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Influencer Marketers to support retail activation plans
  • Work closely with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver content to storytell within the MI Retail space 
  • Deliver ROI, manage budgets, track KPIs and compile reports on marketing activities for senior stakeholders
  • Use extensive specialist product knowledge of Harman Pro’s MI retail products to inform Retail commercial strategy and define retail marketing plans 
  • Leverage broad and powerful industry network to inform HARMAN’s category strategy, shape the marketing plan and feed insights back into the business
  • Lean on experience and/or contacts with specialist audio and mass interest publications, bodies and agencies to create and generate press, content and opportunities for Harman’s MI Retail products
  • Share knowledge and thought leadership to advance team’s thinking and incorporate best practices into ways of working to remove operational barriers, maximise productivity and drive team development
  • Manage third party agencies to deliver to plan within agreed timelines and budget
  • Contribute to building customer segmentation, target audience personas and ongoing improvements in the customer journey
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

What You Need

  • An in-depth knowledge of the MI Retail industry – your insights will allow us to excite and engage our customers
  • Significant expertise in collaborating with MI retailers to build co-marketing plans
  • Experience in influencer marketing, especially to support build towards awareness and commercial goals
  • Proven ability to deliver results on Amazon
  • Extensive product knowledge of audio MI products (speakers, headphones, mixers, portable PAs, etc)
  • Continuous improvement mentality, keeping abreast of marketing trends and best practice
  • A growth mindset and track record of innovation and creative flair
  • Quick thinker with a “can do” attitude who can manage multiple work streams and prioritise according to the needs of the business
  • Strong self-management skills, relentlessly curious and not afraid to ask questions; you want to learn and thrive within a fast-growing company
  • Innovative problem-solver with an ability to influence stakeholders, get people on board and keep them engaged
  • Proficient project management and organisation skills

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to travel 50% of the time
  • Ideally UK-based; other EU locations will be considered for the right candidate (e.g. NL, DE, FR, Nordics)
