About the Role:

The Director of Marketing EMEA will drive growth across EMEA for HARMAN Professional Solutions’ portfolio of audio, video and controls and lighting products. Fundamental to this growth is capitalising on our Distribution Marketing across the key region and establishing a platform of collaboration. These products utilize a wide set of B2B and B2C go-to-market channels and strategies, and as such the successful candidate will have demonstrated success across a broad range of marketing disciplines. In particular, this position will be responsible for creating and executing creative sales enablement, trade, and customer marketing programs that deliver impactful and measurable results.

What you will do:

Drive Enterprise Adoption

From Tottenham Hotspur’s stadium to the Dubai Arena, our installed audio, video and lighting products allow our B2B customers to create amazing experiences. The Director of Marketing EMEA will create and deliver ground-breaking marketing programs that tell those stories and drive adoption of HARMAN Professional Solutions across the region, using tools such as:

  • Regional execution on the assets created by Global Pro Marketing including deploying and adopting it to the EMEA region, conceptualisation, development and deployment of regional sales enablement tools such as solution guides, application briefs, case studies and pitch decks in collaboration with our Distribution’s Marketing network.

  • Advertising and PR through B2B vertical trade publications and online channels, including trade shows, roadshows and events utilizing our & partner’s state-of-the-art experience centres and customer showcase venues

  • Lead generation and nurturing programs utilizing content marketing and online marketing automation including digital marketing approaches

  • B2B channel partner training and co-op programs

Create Consumer Excitement

Our legendary brands, such as JBL, AKG, and Lexicon, have been awarded technical Grammy awards for their contribution to the recording and entertainment industry. The Director of Marketing EMEA will further these brand legacies by making them the product of choice for today’s performing bands and musicians, as well as emerging segments of independent producers, podcasters and DJs.

  • Working with Distribution’s Marketing Leads to engage shoppers in the retail channel via creative storytelling, innovative POS and promotions. This includes new product launches and continued awareness for existing products.

  • Ensure that creative is appropriate for the region while supporting current cultural narratives and brand standards, through creative thinking and partnership with sales, amplify the presence of our brands at retail, including expanded SKUs, merchandising, floor space and retailer mindshare

  • Drive product launches and sustaining business by building customer promotions and programs that create excitement and drive retail sell-through.

  • Collaborate with global marketing teams to incorporate digital, social and influencer marketing into regional programs.

Build a World Class Marketing Operation

  • Oversee GTM support for professional business and direct marketing communications for demand creation including: branding, public relations, advertising, social media, digital marketing, e-commerce, website optimization, inbound marketing, Internet strategy and content creation, trade shows/events and promotions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and distribution partners to enable new product introduction and work closely with channel, business development and AVL leadership to develop and sustain install ecosystem – System integrators, architects, consultants and other lead influencers

  • Drive distributor and reseller marketing plans and track performance against co-op agreements and commercial conditions and influence distributors to implement in country marketing activities for NPI, sustaining as per brand guidelines

  • Develop and build relationships with key promotional partners, licensees and retailers to help maximize opportunities for properties and collaborate with internal and external (distributors, integrators) stakeholders to conceptualize and execute strategic and tactical marketing plans, process, reporting and communication.

  • Collaborate and partner with leaders of the marketing support center (Brand Services, Insights, Corporate Communications & Digital Commerce) to maximize impact across the Marketing organization.

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the region’s marketing team, manage marketing budget across EMEA region in accordance with division goals and allocations, Recruit, train and manage a high performing EMEA marketing team.

What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)

  • Experienced people and team manager

  • Ability to speak another European language (preferably German and/or French)

  • Handling Marketing across international distribution

  • Experience in developing marketing assets and collaborate with distributors who are responsible to execute in market

  • Managing multiple agencies and budgets

  • Working in a matrix org

Bonus points:

  • Extensive relevant marketing experience in Pro A/V, technology industry

  • Having a proactive, goal-oriented approach to decision making.

  • Clear and strategic thinker; proven experience in translating strategies into actionable plans.

  • Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion.

  • Proven team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can effectively work across all levels of a global matrix organization.

  • Must work with all facets of marketing, sales and internal business partners (eCommerce, Operations, Customer Service, etc.) and externally with dealers, distributors and integrators, consultants.

  • Establish a deep relationship with EMEA Distributor/Partner Marketing

  • Create a seamless collaboration platform between Harman & Distribution Marketing

  • High attention to detail and flawless execution

  • Must be able to anticipate possible issues arising with customer needs and address them to completion.

  • Ensure executional excellence including getting in the trenches when needed

  • Providing exceptional service and quality to external and internal customer.

  • Creative in terms of developing customer programs that leverage all available marketing assets.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 50%, domestic and international travel.

  • Willingness to work from an office in Hemel Hempstead, UK, Amsterdam, NL or Garching, DE area
