Position Summary:

As the Senior Product Manager, Next Generation ADAS, you will join Harman's ADAS Business Unit as part of the Automotive Division at HARMAN International. You will have the opportunity to partner with a team that is dedicated to defining and delivering next-generation ADAS solutions across software, hardware and sensor-defined experiences and will drive the related product management activities. In short, this position will be defining the next generation ADAS related aspects for Harman Automotive.

This position will be part of the ADAS SBU product management team working with the Vice President Product Management and reporting to the Sr. Director, Platform Development.

While this is an individual contributor position your influence and collaboration skills will be applied to a global, cross-functional team drawn from relevant functions within the business in a matrix organization. Given the product line complexity it involves closely working with multiple feature area owners supporting the product management activities. This team will be empowered and aligned around company objectives. Excellent communication and leadership skills will be keys to success.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and define the automotive next generation ADAS product roadmap and strategy, incorporating future business opportunities consisting of hardware, software, tools, data, AD-maps and cloud infrastructure
  • Manage co-operations with key customers and partners, define, collect and manage automotive product requirements, access business opportunities and help drive go-to-market plans and customer engagements
  • Provide related guidance across different disciplines like system of systems, functional safety, SOTIF, embedded software, perception, cloud services, sensor technologies and different hardware architectures
  • Monitor current and evolving technologies, architectures, and modern ways of agile development. Maintain our competitive positioning across tiers from features, power, performance, benchmarking and cost, and use those to ensure that we continue to have the best in class overall next generation ADAS product roadmap
  • Offer strategic and long-term vision, and recommendations on how to direct our roadmap especially product and technology feedback from customers into roadmap planning process
  • Develop and manage the different product business cases under the product line including the definition of pricing structures and business models
  • Manage, maintain, and build long lasting partnerships. Organize and drive governance structure plus co-operations to success. Track progress based on KPIs, create transparency and trigger escalation when needed
  • Support the make and buy analysis for product realization and work closely with partnership and M&A teams
  • Strengthen the governance process for development approval of new products, roadmaps, and feature sets
  • Build unique value propositions. Prioritize related technology and feature development based on anticipated industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Support internal and external marketing initiatives, including the creation of related assets
  • Work closely with the global sales teams to capture the voice of the customer, identify forward-looking technologies & associated strategies to be incorporated in future product revisions
  • Support Sales teams in RFQ pursuits from concept through business award
  • Work closely with internal and external teams across global sites and time zones

What You Need:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 10+ years of automotive technology development experience, including experience with hardware and software products
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Automotive Product Management, encompassing full product life cycle, from concept to commercialization
  • Exceptionally strong knowledge of exterior ADAS, software development and cloud services
  • Comfortable working with the ambiguity inherent in implementing new technologies;
  • Significant experience of negotiating 3rd party business agreements
  • Experience in defining and delivering SDK/PDK type solutions to market
  • Profound experience in customer engagements and product marketing in Automotive
  • Strong business acumen, knowledge of business case development and financial metrics
  • Strong skills in communication, presentation, and problem-solving (both customer and internal)
  • Experience working in a global organization or on a global product
  • Knowledge of hardware and software development best practices is a big plus
  • Knowledge of Software licensing and creative business models incl. SaaP and SaaS is a big plus
  • Be willing to travel up to 25%, domestic and international travel
  • Be willing to participate in automotive conferences and network
  • Team player with passion and zeal to do whatever it takes for business success
