About the Role

We are looking for thought leaders who have the curiosity to continuously monitor global/regional market dynamics and technology trends, break down complex problems into manageable tasks, are highly empathetic to both customer and consumer needs, and are looking to develop products and services that will define the future of the automotive industry. Our industry-leading product portfolio spans Digital Cockpit, Car Audio, Connectivity, and ADAS domains.

As a product manager, you will define and execute highly differentiated products and services from concept to launch by acting as a glue between the business and technology functions within the organization. Best products come to life in a collaborative environment. Therefore, you will work in a fast-paced work environment with business units, innovation and technology teams, supply chain, finance, sales, legal, marketing, UI/UX designers, etc. to bring your product vision to reality.  

Your Team

While this is an individual contributor position, you will be expected to lead with influence and work with cross-functional team members drawn from all relevant functions within the business in a matrix organization. This team will be empowered and aligned around company objectives. Excellent communication and leadership skills will be key to success

What You Will Do

  • Accelerate new and attractive concepts into the sales-ready product portfolio by creating compelling and differentiated product propositions
  • Synthesize global and regional market trends, market sizing, technology trends, and customer & consumer insights to determine opportunities for investments
  • Conduct market intelligence and assess competitive positioning by comparing Harman's product portfolio to competitors' products and eco-systems
  • Think beyond the technology itself and understand key business drivers that ensure technology investment will provide substantial value or improvements to customers
  • Develop market and product requirements with a rolling 3–5-year iterative product and feature roadmap
  • Leverage technologies within and outside of HARMAN to develop lasting and winning relationships to benefit the unique nature of the diverse HARMAN business.
  • Identify Go-To-Market strategies and effective sales product pitches in close collaboration with product marketing and sales
  • Work across organizational boundaries to drive a unified and best in class approach to Product Management

What You Need

  • 5 -10 years of Product Management experience with a technology company
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MBA preferred
  • Proven track record of defining and successfully launching products in global markets
  • Knowledge of business case development and basic financial metrics
  • Experience working in a matrix, global organization by collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Results and detail-oriented: hold him/herself and others accountable for commitments
  • Effective C-Level communication skills

What is Nice to Have

  • Automotive relevant experience
  • Experience working with the Automotive OEMs
  • Strong customer orientation through credibility with the customer as a trusted, collaborative, and productive partner
  • Strong experience in product development and agile processes
