About the Role

The Senior Manager of People Analytics and Planning will develop and build HARMAN’s capability to leverage human capital technology and analytics to provide a superior customer-centric experience, enabling fact-based decisions and innovative solutions to deliver premier performance. The leader will manage the development, growth and engagement of the People Analytics team and build a culture of data-driven decision making throughout the HR community. The leader will support our business and HR strategies by collaborating with key stakeholders and building a deep understanding of our HARMAN businesses.


Your Team

The Senior Manager of People Analytics and Planning will report into the Senior Director, Global HR Systems & Operations. This position will initially have 2 direct reports.


What You Will Do

  • Build a world class People Analytics strategy; to lead the evolution of HR analytic strategies and advance HARMAN’s HR analytics maturity model to an optimized state – resulting in real-time decision making and impactful predictions/forecasts.
  • Partner closely with senior HR and business leaders to understand their business challenges and develop appropriate analytics, reporting and visualization solutions to address them; partner with other functions/CoEs to increase overall analytics impact.
  • Establish strong partnerships with HR CoEs including Global Rewards, Talent Management, Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition and HARMAN University to ensure aligned functional reporting & analytics strategies and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain workforce planning processes, tools and methods, in partnership with Finance and the Global HRBP community, to identify short and long-term workforce needs.
  • Develop predictive analytics tools designed to inform leaders on how to effectively and efficiently leverage the workforce, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a strong external focus within the data analytics, measurement, “big data,” talent analytics and HR Reporting & Analytics space (and the HR function broadly) to be able to lead innovative approaches and generate industry best practices.
  • Educate the Global HR community on the importance and use of reporting & analytics strategies to grow the capabilities of the global HR function.
  • Actively stay abreast of and research macroeconomic conditions across the globe to support future business growth and optimization of global talent footprint.
  • Work with a matrix team of Division/Region analytics specialists and build out additional team as required.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in workforce or people analytics generating meaningful, actionable insights for business leaders and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to tell a story through data and communicate effectively with senior leadership and other key stakeholders; mastery of advanced visualization and analytical techniques with an ability to translate findings for a general business audience.
  • Experience with diverse analytics methodologies and approaches; expert ability to connect HR data/metrics to business metrics/results.
  • Qualitative research, design, and analysis including natural language processing and sentiment analysis.
  • Ability to influence and persuade without formal authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of leading and building teams. Ability to get into the details while appropriately setting and communicating broader strategy.
