The Path Forward Return to Work program at HARMAN is a 16 week paid returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to women and men who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent. About the Role

As a BI Project Manager, you will work hand in hand with the business stakeholders and developers throughout the dashboard lifecycle in order to merge diverse and potentially conflicting business interests into a coherent, cost effective set of project priorities following Agile practices in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment.


What You Will Do

  • Assist business stakeholders in the definition of project scope and objectives
  • Understand business processes and departmental/divisional goals
  • Help developers to gather and document business requirements, status updates, and escalate issues as necessary
  • Develop project charters and effective project plans
  • Plan and manage agile/scrum project sprints
  • Negotiate with stakeholders to prevent scope creep
  • Successfully manage stakeholder relationships
  • Address project risks and issues with passion
  • Resolve changes to the project scope and project schedule
  • Identify source data quality issues and suggest improvements
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project status report outs to management

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science and/or Business
  • Five (5) years of related experience in BI, Data Management, business analysis, project management required or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • Strong Business Acumen
  • Agile Project Management skills critical, experience on analytics projects strongly desired
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Critical thinking and ability to drive conclusions based on data findings

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience working with Data Analytics and Visualization tools (like Qlik Sense, QlikView, Tableau)
  • PMP Certification completed or in progress, working knowledge of Microsoft Project

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan
  • Be willing to travel up to 25%, domestic and international travel
  • Must have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for a child or other dependent
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
