About the Role

As part of the Toyota Customer Business Unit (CBU), the Manager, Sales will serve a key role in formulating product planning strategies and using tactical engagement approaches, enhance relationships with key decision-makers and improve the value of both our branded audio partnership as well as target connected car multimedia and telematic product and solution opportunities for the EMEA market. 

The ideal candidate must be customer-focused, highly professional, technically knowledgable, experienced in product development and adaptable with strong interpersonal communication skills.  This individual will interface with all levels of the customer organization and must be able to identify and balance multiple customer perspectives.

What You Will Do

This position is responsible for taking a lifecycle management approach to increasing the sales of all Harman products across all Toyota and Lexus vehicles within the EMEA Region. 

The Manager, Sales will…

  • Play a significant role in formulating a product strategy for all markets within his/her region and develop a tactical sales approach to meet CBU goals.
  • Be an integral team member to the Toyota/Lexus product planning, product marketing, and cross carline communities within the EMEA region.
  • Determine the path and rational to improve customer experience and Harman’s position in the market and overall business:
  • Identifying business targets through a clear understanding of Toyota model lifecycle timing and planning process
  • Utilizing benchmarking information and internal collaboration to best position Harman within the planning and marketing community
  • Comprehensively understanding the customer’s business to find win-win business opportunities across all of Harman’s technology offerings.
  • Support creation and sharing of join Harman-Customer product roadmaps

  • Create opportunities by:
  • Employing consultative, solution-focused selling techniques with product planning contacts
  • Collaborating with marketing to develop programs to influence our product placement in vehicle level placement
  • Work along side marketing to develop and grow all Harman technology partnerships
  • Creating specific tactics and strategies  that increase our product acceptance
  • Actively support new product launches (creation of launch plans, internal & external event support)
  • Organizing customer tech-days and other promoting brands & siolutions through customer internal PR activities

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of Tier 1 experience with an automotive OEM or a similar B2B business
  • Team player with the ability to work well in a matrixed team with minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and experience creating executive summaries to top management
  • Experience in working in a fast paced, highly measured, results focused environment.
  • Results driven, demonstrates a proactive and collaborative approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including travel, potentially including occasional international travel
  • Customer focused
  • Hands-on-approach
  • Affinity with multimedia / high-tech

  • Technical background is a plus
  • Audio and/or multimedia knowledge is a plus
  • Experience working with a tier 1 automotive supplier
  • Sales and/or marketing experience in branded or premium products
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced/high-pressure environment, while maintaining good customer relations
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, efficiently, and accurately from varying sources.
  • Ability to take initiative, while prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate assertiveness.
  • Excellent time management skills.

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 25%, mostly within EMEA region
