About the Role

The position will manage and execute the category sourcing strategy and savings objectives overall. The successful candidate will manage all activities relating to procurement and sourcing for new product based on market requirements in India, including commercial contracts, pricing, prototype & sample logistics and as well as supply chain risks. What You Will Do

  • Oversee, conduct, and actively manage the end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement process for Indian market NPIs.
  • Provide scheduling, samples, initiate prototype and bring thought leadership for optimizing sourcing effectiveness and identify new potential product launch opportunities.
  • Establish strong vendor relationships, effectively manage category supply base, perform advanced and intricate negotiations to realize annual savings, and oversee selection of key vendors in alignment with category strategy.
  • Ensure expedient and compliant implementation of new contracts prior to business award following established Harman procurement process.
  • Actively monitor vendor and internal performance against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines on a quarterly basis.  Develop and submit reports for senior management.
  • Identify, track and evaluate market changes and new technologies - make appropriate fact-based recommendations for adoption to HARMAN-India stakeholders.
  • Manage and/or support preparation and evaluation of RFIs and RFPs.
  • Lead and facilitate the New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings with representatives from Pro-Harman India team: Planning, Product Development, Marketing and Sales.
  • Review customer request for quotes against current manufacturing capability. Ensure manufacturing capability and capacity exists to meet customer requirements based on information provided at time of quote request.
  • Ensure customer requirements are understood and communicated to all vendors during the porotype and conceptualizing phase of NPIs.
  • Identify benchmark products either in Indian market or at vendors and further compile market intelligence to be reviewed with management on a quarterly basis.

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Excellent data analytics and presentation skills
  • Bilingual fluency in English & Hungarian
  • Minimum 2+ years of procurement experience.
  • Prior experience in sourcing and negotiating direct materials in a consumer electronics or professional products environment using strategic category management techniques to achieve results.
  • Must possess the social intelligence to influence contractual negotiations to benefit HARMAN’s position.

What is Nice to Have

  • 3+ years of working experiences with OEM, JDM or ODM on complex product or subassembly from new Product Development through End of Life.
  • Experiences in professional audio industry is a plus.
  • Experience in successfully using benchmarking and cost analysis tools to deliver negotiation outcomes to exceed the market index.
  • Thorough program/project management skills.
  • Strong skills with: Supplier management, negotiation, contract development/analysis, supplier evaluation, price/cost analysis.
  • Solid understanding of risk management techniques.
  • Excellent market research and trend analysis skills.
  • Strong strategic/long-range planning skills.
  • Good financial analysis skills.
