We are seeking a SW Architect to support the development of ADAS features in security and safety relevant ECUs. As a candidate, you enjoy modeling safe automotive product grade SW in a professional environment and applying latest modeling tools and agile processes. You have 3+ years of experience in SW Modeling of embedded, distributed systems, and have 6+ years of experience in SW Development inside a process- and tools environment for concurrent development. You know that modeling coherent SW Architectures within an architecture team goes beyond drawing UML diagrams and you understand ASPICE practices and requirements relevant for SW Architecture. You enjoy seeing your architecture being applied by the development teams and support and review the teams’ progress. You have contributed to safety relevant features and corresponding HARAs and you applied ISO26262 safety practices in design and implementation. Finally, you have a passion for innovation, you love learning new technologies and concepts and you are as excited about Automotive as we are.

What you will do:

  • Analyze complex customer requirements and help the customer to create and refine requirements where needed, using state of the art tools and processes, like Rational DOORS
  • You will create and document your architecture with corresponding tools, like EA. This includes static- and behavioral design, e.g. according to 4+1 view model.
  • By applying appropriate practices, you make sure that the model stays coherent across packages and that the design is traceable to requirements, code and test cases.
  • You communicate and revise your design decisions across your architect colleagues, developers, customers and other stakeholders
  • Support root cause analysis of tricky defects
  • Design selected features that can be distributed over several processes, VMs or even ECUs.
  • Guide implementation teams during SW development and conduct occasional code reviews
  • Collaborate in Multi-Site and Multi-Location teams 

What you need:

  • Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Several Years of experience in embedded SW architecture, design and development
  • In depth experience with modeling tools, like EA, Rhapsody or MagicDraw
  • Hands on experience in at least one of Autosar classic or Autosar Adaptive
  • Strong experience in designing distributed, embedded systems
  • Good understanding of OO design and design patterns
  • Practical Experience in applying communication middleware for IPC/RPC, incl. specification of interfaces using IDLs.
  • Excellent understanding of Linux OS.
  • Several years of embedded programming in C++
  • Deep knowledge in selected automotive and Safety relevant domains, preferably incl. ADAS
  • Knowledge and understanding of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, Automotive Ethernet, MQTT, HTTP, TCP/IP, SOME/IP).
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and fluent English language skills are mandatory.
  • Flexibility for travel

A big plus is experience in:

  • Hypervisors

They operate with little guidance/supervision as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in their defined area of specialization. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years’ experience.

  3. Principal Engineer

    Principal Engineers are recognized as an emerging expert. They lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or process while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 12 years’ experience.

  4. Senior Principal Engineer

    Recognized as a technical expert, Senior Principal Engineers consistently demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity. They develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of their specialty. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 16 years’ experience.

  5. Distinguished Engineer

    A Distinguished Engineer has a strong record of creativity and innovation. They advance engineering principles, theories and concepts, and are recognized as a Company-wide authority in one or more technical areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years’ experience.

  6. Fellow

    A Fellow is an industry recognized expert with a significant body of peer reviewed research and journal publications and frequently speaks at conferences. Acts as a HARMAN ambassador. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 25 years’ experience.

  7. Senior Fellow

    A Senior Fellow is the most accomplished of an elite group of engineers, widely recognized as a World renowned expert in their field of expertise. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 30 years’ experience.
