Responsibility:

  • Functional Owner (FO) is responsible from requirement analysis till realization of the functionality in Systems domain.
  • Systems FO needs to coordinate with Domains, CoCs and Suppliers.
  • FO is responsible for the supplier management within his functional area
  • Define acceptance criteria for deliverables from CoCs and suppliers

Tasks:

  • Define the scope of the functional area for the program based on a project charter
  • Review of CoC deliverables
  • Accept deliverables from CoCs and suppliers based on defined acceptance criteria
  • Requirements Management and Feature planning for the functional area (scope) in close coordination with the Product Management and / or the SW Project Manager.
  • Definition of the functional area’s architecture.
  • Monitoring (KPI) and stability for the specific functional area
  • Synchronize project planning and scheduling (work package definition and delivery) with the Product Management and mutual sign off
  • Manage dependencies and interfaces to other functional areas and subprojects proactively
  • Ensure the delivery of features in scope, time and quality.
  • Ensure that the SW process is applied in the project in consultation with SW-APQP.
  • Ensure traceability and consistency of requirements, feature maturity, test specifications, defects, and change requests
  • Report status, issues and progress of the SW development to the SW project lead
  • Effort estimation for Change Requests from Product Management
  • Ensure pre-integration testing and verification for the functional area and its features.
  • Ensure the implementation of defined test strategies and document the achieved results.
  • Delivery of the software for software Integration
  • Defect triaging and work with CoC s for the resolution

Technical Skills:

  • 7-10 years of experience in C, C++, Java
  • Proficient in Android System concepts.
  • Should have experience on Android development and debugging robust systems
  • Proficient in multi threaded programming and middleware solution development on Android environment. Strong in fundamentals of IPC and OS concepts.
  • Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing complex software defects
  • Good experience in Android internals (Android O.Car preferred)
  • Android build, porting and customization experience
  • System level debugging
  • Experience of system integration for automotive infotainment systems is preferred

Decision-making competencies:

  • Negotiate SW scope, priorities and deliverables with Product Management, SW Project Level as well as with other functional areas
  • Implementation strategy of the functional area
  • Prioritization of feature development
  • Decision of software changes with impact on the current plan (time, quality, budget); escalation to SW Project Level depending on level impact
  • Sign-Off for domain/CoC implementation planning
  • Strong communication and moderation skills
  • Leadership of SW development teams for the full development life cycle

    An entry level role, the degreed Engineer knows and applies basic concepts and techniques of the profession under direct supervision and guidance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree

  2. Senior Engineer

    A Senior Engineer provides a wider variety of technical support tasks using a combination of advanced engineering principles and techniques. They operate with little guidance/supervision as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in their defined area of specialization. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years’ experience.

  3. Principal Engineer

    Principal Engineers are recognized as an emerging expert. They lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or process while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 12 years’ experience.

  4. Senior Principal Engineer

    Recognized as a technical expert, Senior Principal Engineers consistently demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity. They develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of their specialty. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 16 years’ experience.

  5. Distinguished Engineer

    A Distinguished Engineer has a strong record of creativity and innovation. They advance engineering principles, theories and concepts, and are recognized as a Company-wide authority in one or more technical areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years’ experience.

  6. Fellow

    A Fellow is an industry recognized expert with a significant body of peer reviewed research and journal publications and frequently speaks at conferences. Acts as a HARMAN ambassador. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 25 years’ experience.

  7. Senior Fellow

    A Senior Fellow is the most accomplished of an elite group of engineers, widely recognized as a World renowned expert in their field of expertise. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 30 years’ experience.
