Position Summary:

The Electronics Engineer is responsible for the development and integration of electronics designs and wire design, to control: light, stepper motors, heat management, network, power management and/or user interface for lighting products. This role will be primary responsible for wiring in all products and platforms developed in Aarhus. Technology scouting and innovation for the electrical engineering area is an inherent part of the role.

Job Responsibilities:

The job responsibilities as an Electronics Engineer at Harman Professional DK links into the development of leading products, modules, platforms and solutions for automated, intelligent lighting. The electronics is namely used in stage lighting, video products, and architectural applications. In the job lies a need for attention to detail, as well as the overview and understanding of the relation between electronics design and the mechanical, optical and software design – in order to secure that we get outstanding quality in light-output, movement via stepper motors, performance in video and LED products, among other parameters that makes our products outstanding.

This entails:

  • Design Electronics solutions for new Harman lighting products.
  • Enable scalable and re-usable electronics platforms
  • Responsible for wiring design on all Platforms and Products developed in Aarhus.
  • Ensure development project engineering risk assessments and define and execute proper technical risk mitigation.
  • Identification and development of electronic technologies for implementation into future products.
  • Ensure that platform development and integration is completed in cooperation between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Design of PCBA layout and schematics to control our products, for the individual product developments.
  • Verification of electronic circuits, including EMC measurements in-house and external.
  • Provide effort estimates for discipline related work packages to project management within product development projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering, e.g. Electronics Engineer, and min. 2 years experience in development of electro-mechanical products
  • Experience in PCBA design (schematics and layout) and specification.
  • Experience in wiring design for electro-mechanical designs.
  • Good foundation in EMC and experience in planning and risk mitigation in relation to EMC
  • Good cooperation skills with people from all over the world
  • English, spoken and written

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to actively work as part of a team/project team
  • Ability to connect the dots between own tasks and project/team deliverables, work proactively and independently, and engage in technical debate with other functions
  • Good understanding of digital electronics
  • Ability to use Matlab, Simulink or similar simulation tools
  • Ability to work in Cadence and/or Mentor Graphics
  • Knowledge of electronics technology used in lighting products

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness for occasional travel to other Harman Pro development centers.
  • Willingness to travel internationally occasionally.

    An entry level role, the degreed Engineer knows and applies basic concepts and techniques of the profession under direct supervision and guidance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree

    A Senior Engineer provides a wider variety of technical support tasks using a combination of advanced engineering principles and techniques. They operate with little guidance/supervision as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in their defined area of specialization. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + 5 years’ experience.

  3. Principal Engineer

    Principal Engineers are recognized as an emerging expert. They lead the conceptualization, design, implementation and testing of technologies, tools, or process while consistently demonstrating technical expertise and ingenuity. They demonstrate the ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 12 years’ experience.

  4. Senior Principal Engineer

    Recognized as a technical expert, Senior Principal Engineers consistently demonstrate high levels of technical expertise, ingenuity and creativity. They develop and apply advanced technologies, engineering principles, theories and concepts, and have broad knowledge about the design and operation of systems outside of their specialty. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 16 years’ experience.

  5. Distinguished Engineer

    A Distinguished Engineer has a strong record of creativity and innovation. They advance engineering principles, theories and concepts, and are recognized as a Company-wide authority in one or more technical areas. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 20 years’ experience.

  6. Fellow

    A Fellow is an industry recognized expert with a significant body of peer reviewed research and journal publications and frequently speaks at conferences. Acts as a HARMAN ambassador. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 25 years’ experience.

  7. Senior Fellow

    A Senior Fellow is the most accomplished of an elite group of engineers, widely recognized as a World renowned expert in their field of expertise. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree + 30 years’ experience.
