Sr System Engineer

Essential Responsibilities: 

Amplifier System Engineer oversees system requirement analysis, system design and system integration test for OEM car Amplifier products.   

 

1. Participate in cross functional development projects to ensure meeting internal and external customer goals.  Work with Management to establish “key” project development objectives, priorities, and schedules.  

2. Provide technical leadership in  amplifier design include requirement analysis, system design and system test. Lead the team to do the requirement analysis in DOORS, for new feature, enhanced featured or existing feature, define work break down structure with HW/SW/ME/Testing team with support from requirement engineer. 

3. Work with test architect to define test cases to make sure improving test coverage with internal and customer requirements.

4. Lead the team to do the system design, include SAD (system architecture design) document, define performance target with customer requirement and Harman internal requirements, include block diagram, interface definition, system requirements, and register setting for Power IC, system FMEA.

5. Facilitate and improve communications among technical staff, management, and other cross functional groups at Harman.

6. Interfaces with customers both internal and external to ascertain customer satisfaction and takes appropriate action to ensure customer satisfaction relative to group performance. 

7. Lead the team for defects analysis, finding root cause and write system level A3 report.

8. Participate RFI and RFQ, work with RFQ team to provide system effort for new project quote.

9. Lead project team to participate in requirement analysis for RFQ phase and after project kick off

10. Conduct System integration test with HW, SW, ME integrated, to check both system requirements and system design target have been satisfied.

 

Skills Required: 

 

1. Strong technical background in product design either in hardware development or software development in automotive OEM product

2. Good understanding of emerging technologies in the area of electronics, audio, and automotive OEM requirements. 

3. Ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional teams and as technical expert within their specific product group. 

4. System engineer shall have knowledge of technical practices, ability to develop and present technical data, resolve internal and external conflicts, negotiate and resolve customer issues, communicate and motivate colleagues. 

5. Proven experience of work with a team of Electronics, Materials Manufacturing, Test, Quality and Supplier Engineering members and coordinate activities among team members with either direct or in-direct reporting structure.

6. Communicate and coordinate effectively with amplifier engineering teams at all Harman product development centers in Europe/NA/Japan mainly

7. Self-starter, macro-minded of engineering functions and responsibilities within the organization.

 

 

Position Qualifications:

 

Academic: BA/BS or greater in Software/Communication/Electronics Engineering

 

Experience: 

1. Minimum of 5 years SW design experience (preferably in the automotive or audio industries). 

2. Customer project deliver from concept to SOP experience.

3. Experience  for lead team.  PMP certification is a plus

4. Superior working knowledge of the OEM customers’ expectations and requirements.

 

Language:

1. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin

2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

1. Willingness to travel 10% of the time, willing to travel to customer side
