Position Summary:

Our divisional global finance function is a critically important team within our division and we are looking for a strong and well versed finance professional that has a real talent within the finance and controlling environment that can partner with our global Lifestyle finance team and help bring further excellence to this function.

 

The Senior Manager of Controlling primary responsibilities includes leading all financial planning, reporting and analysis tasks (budgets, forecasts, internal management reporting, external financial reporting, variance analysis, root cause analysis and corrective action proposals) and financial global process improvement. The role will also lead program reviews and insure program financial commitments are delivered.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have one to two direct reports. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership for business decisions (Capital Expenditures, Cost Reduction Initiatives, Restructuring activities) and act as a strong business partner to the line management
  • Lead financial planning, reporting and analysis tasks including budgets, forecasts, internal management reporting.
  • Direct financial reporting including variance analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action proposals.
  • Insure compliance to HARMAN financial process and GAR regulations (including CARs, EARs).
  • Optimize existing reporting routines and implementation of new reporting standards and tools.
  • Ensure financial commitments including capital budgets, expense budgets, new business proposals and working capital are achieved.
  • Leads the reporting, analytics and planning process for the Division
  • In charge of central marketing expense operational control
  • Directs the preparation for monthly Operations, Budget, and other reviews, including the preparation of presentation material showing progress, variances, conditions and results.
  • Prepares monthly standard reports.  Proactive analysis and understanding of the financial data and variance analysis is key to valuable business reporting.
  • Directs the preparation of the MOnthy Divisional Report to the CEO
  • Works closely with all Strategic Business Units and Regions to drive financial reporting, financial process improvements and projects (based on pre-defined KPI’s)
  • Review month-end closing procedures prepared by Finance/Accounting staff within the business units.
  • Supervise and maintain a tight monthly G/L close process working closely with divisional businesses and business controllers.
  • Preparation / Coordinate the preparation of financial budget or annual Business Plan / Mid-Year Update / Month-end Corporate Reporting.
  • Maintain and create standardized financial reports utilizing SAP supporting both divisional and SBU needs as required.
  • Manage central marketing budget for Lifestyle Division, including budgeting, forecasting, ROI analysis
  • Manage divisional IT budget process
  • Lead and support projects including working capital improvement, financial systems implementation, headcount reporting, restructuring reporting, and financial analyses for M&A transactions
  • Corporate liase for any FP&A questions, and run a monthly interface meeting with Corporate Controlling
  • Support Month end close, especially as it relates to Central Cost Allocations

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in finance or equivalent; Masters’ degree or MBA preferred, a strong plus from a top tier school
  • Minimum 8+  years of  relevant work experience in field with a global organization
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Powerpoint, Project and Word
  • Good knowledge of accountant standards
  • Solid working knowledge of SAP
  • Working knowledge of FASB and GAAP
  • Some accounting experience expected / degree with CPA preferred
  • Previous experience managing a small team of 1-2 direct reports in the financial area a plus

  • Willingness to travel 10% of the time both domestically and internationally

  • Willingness to work under tight time schedule and pressure
