Position Summary:

You will deliver best-in-class services for the corporate accounting department while also supporting Human Resources on various compensation related tasks.  This position will analyze the corporate ledgers and ensure proper recording of various balance sheet and income statement activities.  This will include being responsible for accounting for and administering the company’s long term cash incentive (LTCI) program, management incentive program, and other cash incentive programs.  You will provide accounting expertise and experience to assist the Manager, Corporate Accounting in accurate and timely financial statement submissions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Corporate Accounting team by assisting with the month-end close and reporting cycle.
  • Prepare journal entries to post into the SAP ledger by collecting and analyzing necessary data.
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts (e.g. Payroll, Assets, Liabilities)
  • Work with Harman business units and shared services to ensure intercompany transactions between the Corporate office and global divisions are handled with accuracy and reconciled every month.
  • Support HR on the administration of the company’s long term cash incentive plan, including processing grant agreements and communication to employees as well as maintaining accurate employee and grant information.

•   In partnership with HR, administer and support the management incentive program, including budgeting and accounting for other cash-based incentive programs.

  • Review and maintain the participant database including monthly reconciliation with the GlobalView HR system to ensure recording of terminations and timely calculation of prorated grants for new hires and promotions during the grant cycle.
  • Track acceptance of all grant agreements and provide regular updates to the Global Rewards Team.
  • Prepare on a monthly basis communications and grant agreements for new hires and promotions during the grant cycle.
  • Work with Global Payroll teams to process LTCI payouts according to vesting schedule  
  • Answer LTCI related inquiries received from employees, HR Business Partners and Division Controllers as needed.
  • Reconcile cash payments and plan activities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis. 
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to account for long term incentive plan activity.
  • Calculate and input quarterly updates of probability assessments for awards with performance conditions.
  • Various other tasks as assigned.
  • Support monthly and quarterly audit packs for consolidated BPC reporting.
  • Liaising with Finance, Tax, Payroll, Human Resources, and other departments as needed.

 

Basic Qualifications:

•     Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance

•     5+ years of related work experience in private or public finance/accounting

       •     Highly Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel)

       •      Knowledge of advanced ERP systems

•     BPC experience a plus.

•     Excellent written and oral communication skills
