Position Summary:

The Tax Manager position will include the preparation of all required tax forms, and coordination with the Corporate Tax group’s worldwide tax compliance and provision process. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has supervisory repsonsibilities for outside consulting projects. Manage outsourced compliance engagement.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as a core member of the tax reporting team on the preparation of the quarterly consolidating global tax provision.
  • Prepare financial statement disclosures related to tax for inclusion in our Samsung GCPS filings and our stand-alone financial statements.
  • Quarterly preparation of Executive Summary of our global tax position.
  • Work directly with and manage our outside tax advisors on the preparation of the U.S. Federal and State income tax returns.
  • Assist with SAMSUNG Korea tax return requirements data collection and interpretation.
  • Act as the primary reviewer of the Federal and State consolidated returns.
  • Research technical matters related to the compliance process and develop well organized tax memoranda to support our conclusions and tax positions.
  • Primary responsibility for maintenance and accuracy of our tax calendar.
  • Responsible for preparation of all Federal and State estimated taxes and extension requests.
  • Catalog and inventory  tax notices and prepare brief narratives of the issues to be discussed at weekly tax meetings.
  • Assist Tax Directors, Senior Tax Directors and Tax Advisors with examinations by taxing authorities.
  • Assist Tax Directors and Senior Tax Directors with research and planning projects.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS/MBA Taxation or LLM.
  • 5+ years Public Accounting experience required, and experience in the Federal Tax Services Corporate Group strongly desired.
  • Experience preparing Federal, State and Local consolidated, unitary and separate corporate tax returns.
  • Working knowledge of Accounting for Income Taxes under ASC 740.
  • Solid understanding of how to perform tax technical research.
  • Proficient with Microsoft excel.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Power Point.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP Experience.
  • Advanced computer skills including Excel.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel.
  • Willingness to work in an office in Stamford, CT.
  • Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

 

Other:

  • CPA or MST preferred.
  • Must be an analytical and critical thinker.
  • Capacity to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a staff role, which requires the ability to quickly establish trust and rapport with divisional finance and operating managers.
  • Solid understanding of financial processes and internal controls.
  • Ability to convert detailed financial analysis into understandable summaries and recommendations.
  • High energy and self confidence.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple levels of management and within different functional areas.
