Sr. Engineer, Acoustics

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Designs speaker systems using LEAP, BASSBOX and other acoustic analysis software.
  • Develops BOM of loudspeaker system.
  • Create loudspeaker specs under the direction of Acoustics Engineering Manager.
  • Create engineering development schedule according to marketing plan.
  • Tunes the loudspeaker system. Design and create crossover network prototypes.
  • Develops loudspeaker system prototypes.
  • Measure loudspeaker samples and create reports.
  • Provide technical advice and expertise to others in the department.
  • Inspect loudspeaker first articles for compliance with specifications and create reports.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop 2D and 3D component and cabinet drawings.
  • Regularly communicate design aspects and project status to local and US managers via e-mail, WebEx, or video conference.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Must have good hearing and be capable of accurately evaluating sound quality of audio product.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or acoustical engineering.
  • 3+ years experience working as a transducer engineer in new product development.
  • 3+ speaker system design experience
  • Experienced in transducer or speaker testing using proper equipments; 
  • Good English language skills and write technical documents in clear and concise English.
  • Experienced with computers, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Desired Characteristics:


  • Strong knowledge of transducers, loudspeaker system and crossover network design.
  • Experience using Listen Soundcheck, MLSSA, LMS and Audio Precision test systems.

       Audio Precision and Soundcheck programming knowledge highly desirable.

  • Able to read schematics, drawings and other forms of documentation.
  • Experience working with vendors and Contract Manufacturers.
  • Experience working with overseas companies in Europe and the US.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Eligibility Requirements:


  •  Willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • Willingness to work in an office in Shenzhen
  • Willingness to submit to a background screen and a drug test
