Sr Principal Engineer, Firmware(Lighting)

Position Summary:

We are looking for a new colleague to:

Integrate and tailor software platform components to control light, movement, heat management, network and/or user interface into lighting products. Engage in project work as the software competence.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No direct/indirect reports.

Job Responsibilities:

The job responsibilities as a Software Engineer links into the development of leading products and solutions for automated, intelligent lighting. The software is used in stage lighting, video products, and architectural applications. In the job lies a need for attention to detail, as well as realitime programming and regulation skills – in order to secure that we get outstanding quality in light-output, movement via stepper motors, smoothness in video and LED products, among other parameters that makes our products outstanding.

This entails:

  • Programming of embedded software to control our products, for the individual product developments.
  • Programming of embedded software to control our products, for sustaining of our individual products.
  • Identification of and providing input to software platforms and modules for later implementation into generic software platform.
  • Act as a role model across engineering disciplines; especially for peers, engineers and associate engineers.
  • Independently lead development project engineering risk assessments and define and execute proper technical risk mitigation plans.
  • Scout for input to technology and platform roadmaps across engineering disciplines.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to management.
  • Generate contributions (e.g. in the form of published scientific articles) to the industry.
  • Provide effort estimates for discipline related work packages to project management within product development projects.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS in engineering, e.g. Software Engineer, and min. 10 years experience in development of electro-mechanical products.
  • BS in engineering, e.g. Software Engineer, and min. 15 years experience in development of electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience in embedded software programming
  • Experience in C programming
  • Knowledge of network protocols, RTOS, C++

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to actively work as part of a team/project team
  • Ability to connect the dots between own tasks and project/team deliverables, work proactively and independent, and engage in technical debate with other functions
  • Ability to use Matlab, Simulink or similar
  • Knowledge of Lauterbach, Xilinx and/or Cortex
